Makes listening much easier and enjoyable. And, I like the idea of having access to my entire library as well. However, trying to access and read the Audible website is awkward and it is difficult to read on the iPhone. The website is not designed for such a small screen. Also, ordering up new books is not all that easy either. But, the real value is in the access to the library and new controls which are far superior to the iPod conrols on the iPhone. I don't understand the "badges" that suddenly appeared: "We don't need no stinkin' badges."

This is great. I've always wanted a way to download Audible books directly on my iPhone without having to visit audible.com, download the files to my computer, and sync the content with my phone. The app works as promised and plugs an obvious gap in the iPhone/Audible experience. The social aspects are nice, too. The badges are a nice touch.I'll give this app 5 stars when I can do everything in this app that I can do at the website (within reason). I'd love to be able to manage my next listen queue, buy new books and other content. Knowing Audible, I'm sure this feature will come soon.Sidenote: Audible is current having problems with their content download servers, so you may not be able to download anything at the moment. They are working on the issue (according to customer service). I downloaded content before the servers went offline last night (7/13/10).

Great app and a definite improvement over some of the other apps that Audible has released before on different platforms. Some quick observations for those interested:1) Does not seem to update downloads in to the iTunes library, so if you download the NYT in the app you can not play it in iPod app. This is relevant because of #2 below. It can though read the iTunes library and play from it.2) This app does not support 2X playback like the iPod app does and thats disappointing. I've been listening to books and the NYT in 2X for so long the normal speed seems to crawl. [EDIT: I found a workaround for this but it only works on iTunes library items; if you select categories in the app and navigate to you iPod library and select a book to play, it seems to play in through the iPod because it plays at 2X. So you would need to download via iTunes and sync it over first but it does seem to work.]3) this version doesn't seem to support automatic downloads, man i miss this from the Palm OS days... So you can't have the NYT waiting for you when you head out the door in the morning.It is a good solid app and I hope they add these couple of features as it would be a near perfect app IMO.

Waiting to browse & purchase items on WISH LIST

It works really well for purchased books - but any unread purchased books are generally on my iPhone. I suggested on their website that they allow browsing and purchasing books on our WISH lists assuming they have determined (perhaps) that it would be too demanding on bandwidth to allow people to access the full store. Ability to purchase items would make me rate them 5 stars. For now, I gave them 4.

I've been waiting & hoping for this app for a long time. For a 1.0 app, this is so far looking very polished and useful. I really like the button-free mode. Very clever.I wish it was an option to download the books directly to your music library if you want. Not sure that's even possible from an app, but would be nice.Not being able to purchase books through the app keeps this from the fifth star. I hope that functionality is in the works as well.

First off, this app has been a long time coming. That made my first reaction something along the lines of "about dang time". Beyond that though, they did pretty well. The app looks nice and works well. My only two gripes is are these: I really want to be able to buy books in the app. This doesn't seem like it would be that hard to do, and I'm not sure why they didn't do it. Also, I'm not sure why audible thinks it needs to highjack your status message in order to allow you to share things on facebook, but they do it on their regular site too, and this should change. Just let me post a link or something like every other site out there, it would be much less annoying and I might actually use the feature then. Other than that though, nice job audible. Do those things and you'll get five stars from me.

I love managing my library, but I want to shop too!

I will assume this app will soon be ungraded to include a shopping feature that will allow us to view and purchase new releases, but for now it is primarily a tool to manage your existing library - including downloading directly to your iPhone and seeing some pretty cool stats.The library manager feature is AWESOME and deserves all the five stars its getting, but the app itself falls short as it doesn't allow me to shop. I look forward to that upgrade. I've been a big Audible user since 2005 and they are hands down the best site for buying audiobooks (largest selection, cheapest deals, allows previewing before you buy, great search and find features...etc.)

I've been watching for an app from audible for some time and am happy that they have rolled one out. It is nice to be able to pull in a book without having to sync, and I can always log in with my browser to use my audible credits. Biggest flaw to me is the inability to select download size. The enhanced (largest) file size is the only choice. I never bother with sizes larger than 3 or 4 since voice doesn't benefit from the bigger file. The badges thing is a waste of time, also. I have hundreds of books in my library and god knows how many thousands of listening hours, but the app considers me a newbie. Still, for us audible addicts, the app is a handy addition.

If apple would only allow applications to save to a common file system so I could sync the books back into my iTunes library it would be perfect. As it is now I can only see the books already in iTunes. This will severely limit the usefulness of this app since it makes more sense to download the books on my Mac and then use iTunes to sync allowing me to better organize my collection. To sum it up. Good job Audible. Apple's closed system screws us again.

The best feature for me was direct access to all my purchases in the Audible library. No longer multiple trips to download, import to iTunes and sync to iPhone to get to the older audio books in the library.

This is an awesome app. I've been an audible customer for 5 years and it's great to have my entire library available. They also have a sleep function which is a godsend for me because I go to sleep listening to books. For those who are wondering why you can't yet purchase and download new books, that's apparently on it's way in the next upgrade. Be patient people.

I have always found it to be a real pain to add Audible books to my iPhone through iTunes, between having several computers and the cludgy sync process. For this reason I still use my ancient iPod with drag and drop for my Audible books. So I am delighted to be able to add my content directly to my iPhone. Hooray!!

I love audiobooks, and this is the best player out there by far for listening to them. Bookmarks, sleep mode, and the button free mode (which is awesome to use while driving) are my favorite features, and really make me appreciate this free app. Go Audible!
