Fun & challenging

This game is like a better version of Diner Dash. The main difference is that you're on the food preparation side of things (in addition to serving/taking orders/clearing tables) vs. solely waiting on tables.. I like the show a lot, but that's not the reason I'm giving 5 stars. This is not an easy game. Gordon Ramsey starts to yell at you immediately when you start slowing down. Restaurant goers get pissed quickly.

Having completed the game, I am veryPleased with the purchase. It does have a few areas which need improving, but the game most certainly outweighs the occassional crash and frozen screen. Need more levels please. Well worth the money and The recipes are such a huge bonus if you are into cooking. I can't wait to get cooking, if only I could put the game down for 5 mins... I might actually get somewhere. :)

Instructions would help for those who did not figure it out, but overall it is simple to figure out (I did not even notice the lack of tutorial until I read the other reviews). It has not bugged out on me too much- and I completed the game (over 30 levels). It was fun plus I really love the recipes you earn after completing each level- it is a practical/real life reward for doing well! So wonderful game! I know people complain about the price being changed- but that happens with many apps. Considering the 30+ recipes and game play I would say it is worth the $.

UPDATE:I believe most people are complaining about the font because of it's significance to game play (lack of instructions). I think the developer believes that young teens buy most apps, which is correct most of the time. Chef Gordons show skews to an older audience, and if I'm right, this age group is not "game play savvy". However, if you stick with it and learnTo play, you'll find it's one of the best games out there. I'M ADDICTED!From 1 star to 5!!! And pretty accurate.Old review:Where the heck are the instructions?? If Chef Ramsay were dead he would be rolling over in his grave. Looks like it might be fun, but instead I'll take a Wustoff to it.Oh yeah, this is a miniature version of the full software. And I mean just squished down in size. What an investment in development. Good job &$)holes! (as Chef R would say) GET OUT OF MY EFFIN KITCHEN!!!!

I get 5 stars every time I do a service and it is so much fun...would be better if Chef Ramsey had more audio commentary while you cook but Gordon Ramsey definitely did the audio and the animation of him is very realistic...I bought this game in January and stopped playing after the finale of that season but now that the new season has started I made a new file and enjoy being called a donkey again

Not only are the graphics amazing..but it's highly addictive. It is a great game for all those Hell's Kitchen fans. The frustrating part is sometimes the game speed goes slow and when you touch the screen in the kitchen for cooking food, there's a delay. Other than that, no issues. It would be nice if they added a sim-like component where you had a team dynamic just like the show...that would make for some interesting game play.

Update: minus a star because Ramsay only has a few phrases. A game of this magnitude should be more random. I have not experienced any crashes just a small lag once, so I restarted. ------Whoah! This game rocks. Food flying around in the kitchen, customers demanding orders, this game is intense. So far I have not found a reason to deduct a star.Real recipes are a bonus. Not sure why people are complaining they can't figure out how to play. It's a simple concept; took me less than 10 seconds.

I am a huge Gordon Ramsay fan, so I was slightly disappointed that his actual speaking bits in the game are limited to maybe a dozen or so ("come on!" "you donkey!") that repeat themselves over and over throughout the game. On the other hand, the gameplay itself is hugely entertaining and several of my friends have already gotten sucked into playing it nonstop whenever I have my iPhone around. There are definitely a few lag and crash issues still but at the $4 price tag it's well worth the money for the amount of fun in return. In the future I'd wish for more variety and realism between ingredient prep for different courses... I mean, who puts fish and greens in a dessert??

I really enjoy this game, but it seems the phone has trouble handling the game, there needs to be some way of decreasing virtual memory usage even more. I also have a feeling once I'm done with career I am completely done and probably wouldn't play it again. It would be cool for the company to add expansion updates because the iPhone can utilize a large amount of memory. I bought this game when it was $6, so it must not be selling well. It's the crashes that's killing the app.

Would give it 5 stars but it crashes a lot in the later levels which is a pain, i paid good money for this app and i don't feel it is fit for the purpose or as discribed as you have not stated in your discription of the game that it will crash continually i feel you are breaching the sale of goods act and will be reporting you to trading standards, i would also like a full refund and compensation for my suffering and stress brought on by the constant crashing.

It is a really good game, although I wouldn't say it's addictive.. The game gets quite repetitive when you get all 5 tables coming in; doing a total of 15 dishes in each game!! I would like to of seen more of the quick games (like the ones done at the beginning of each week) to keep the game slightly more interesting!! I would of gave 5 starts, but the crashes can be so frustrating, especially when your just about to complete a level!!

It's a fun game, am glad I waited for the price drop. It's well executed and challenging. It captures the stress of cooking to an extent. I like how when I make a mistake and get something out of sync, then everything seems to go wrong as you try to get things back on track, it can be genuinely quite stressful and I find myself swearing like Ramsey might do. My only problems are with the recipes, the game often crashes when you try to view them, or if not that then it becomes quite sluggish. Overall, well worth the cheaper price.

iPhone OS 3.0 slows Hell's Kitchen down ALOT

This is a fantastic game, and for those who thought it was too easy or got boring really quickly, they clearly didn't play far enough into the game for it's most enjoyable experience. The fun really begins in the 3rd week, when you're expected to crank out starters, entrées, and desserts. Doing all three and managing the demands of your customers really is a pressuring experience for a video game.
While it is a great game, I can't help but say that iPhone OS 3.0 really slows the game down alot. animations are frequently choppy and when the kitchen is really busy, everything just slows down. This is my experience on my 1G iPod touch which might explain why, users with a 2G iPod touch or an iPhone 3GS might have a better experience. Maybe when iPhone OS 3.1 releases I'll experience some better peformance.
In the end, this is definitely a great game worth picking up if you enjoy watching the hit TV series. It's a really great game.

If could make it so you'd make money depending on the meal the costumers order and use that money to buy stuff to renovate the resturaunt or hire entertainers this app would be a phenominal app, I know it would kinda change the idea of the app but I have like 4 or 5 friends with iPhones or itouches I'd tell to get this app if you did that and if they like the app, they would give good reveiws and tell their friends and it would rebuild the reputation of this app witch is not very good at the time.Bottom line this app has potential, I don't recommend this app YET.

Update: 2-20-09 Changed the rating from two stars to four... would like to give it a rating of five stars as I love these types of games..... its hard to get the food prepared to cook.... you have to tap on the bowls to get them spinning.... this is the hard part because it takes at times several times before they start spinning........ unless there's a secret to it....
Rating this low because I can't see the fonts either...
