I bought this app the day it came out about a year ago now and it just gets better and better with more features and content. I recommended some features and every one has been added.If you always want the scriptures with you, not to mention all the manuals, hymns and quotes, this is the app to get. My friend purchase another app the same as this and it is not as good.The "add your own content" is phenomenal. I can now add my patriarchal blessing and favourite stories!I would of paid double for this app- it is that good.

This is exactly the app I've been waiting for!

When I got my iPhone, I missed my Palm Treo with the iSilo reader and its version of the scriptures and the hymns. But now I love having not only the scriptures and hymns, but the Children's Songbook, every Church manual, seminary scripture mastery, TPJS, Teaching: No Greater Call, the FHE Resource Book, Ensign magazines, and more -- including my own content (I've added my family's patriarchal blessings). Latter-day Saints could take their Quad and a wheelbarrow with the rest of this to church. Now I have it all in my iPhone. Thanks!

Excellent scripture app! Every friend who has one of the free apps gets jealous when they see what I can do with this one and usually end up buying it. The free ones simply don't have the capabilities that this has. I love being able to highlight, set bookmarks, easily navigate the footnotes, go to manuals, jump from manual to scriptures and back, make notes, have my own content etc. This is so much better than having a hard copy of the scriptures and all of the manuals. It's all I even need to take to church with me. I love this and it just keeps getting better with each upgrade. Well worth the price, and even more. You'll never regret it!

I have been waiting for this app for a while. I am happy to say that is a great first step. It has all the books a Mormon would like. I would like to see the hymns added. The coming soon features sound great. This is worth the price. Great job.I have looked over the search feature, and find this a neat feature. The best feature added is the verse jumping, as I was just thinking how neat it would be to have such a feature. Now that I can do this, this makes a really impessive app even better.Just tested the book marking. Great feature. Loading is super fast, so I can get to the hymns in time now. Great.Can't wait for highlighting.Ps: can we add back the gold band at the top, looks nicer than black.

Great content. Everything works fine. I would like the ability to organize marked/highlighted into groups/topics for studying specific topics or preparing a lesson. This could also be done by allowing book marks to be grouped such that a book mark could have multiple mark associated with it. Thanks for a great application*************The updates have been great. I use this app all the time. ONE SUGGESTION. I think it would be much more efficient to have letters/numbers listed down the side rather for quick access. Such as the hymns. It seems like when I pick my alpha range then it takes forever to scroll to the hymn, but if I had a quick reference along the side such as they have in the iPhone phone directory it definitely would be faster. This is the same with the index & topical guide.

This app has some new features that are really great! I love the tab feature that allows you to switch back and forth between several different screens - easy to compare scriptures or switch from student manual to scriptures, etc. I've tried the Mac desktop version of the app as well, and really like the synchronization of bookmarks, notes, and highlighting between the desktop and iPhone versions of the app. I also like to enter lengthier notes into the app via the desktop app rather than the iPhone app (easy if you are a 10 finger typer). Including the music with the hymns is also appreciate. And generally speaking, the updating of content to read (e.g., conference reports) is very fast. Overall, this is a marvellous app. Kudos to the developer!!

Besides the fact that I'm insane about being svelt and thin, I can't believe how much easier it is to tote around my iPod Touch instead of my huge 20 pound bag of quads, manuals, books, notes, and pens! And it is SOOOOO much easier to use than physical scriptures and manuals!!! I almost feel like I'm cheating as I follow the teacher in the Gospel Doctrine lesson manual, tap to and from the cited scriptures before she or he can mention them. THIS APPLICATION IS SO SEAMLESS AND MAKES MY LIFE A LIVING WONDER! Even though this app has everything I could imagine a week ago, I just realized that it needs the priesthood booklet for The Family about ordinances and how to administer blessings and such. I just have to say how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this app! Thank you whoever developed this simple, enjoyable, and comprehensive app. This is what technology is supposed to do!

This app keeps getting better and better, and the updates are frequent without being annoying. I have not once regretted the price of this app, especially considering how much it would cost to have a copy of each publication included in the manuals and resources. I would love to have the Young Women Personal Progress booklet available as well, and then I wouldn't need to carry anything extra on a Sunday! It makes my bag so much lighter. I especially like the quotes section.

This app has allowed me to keep up with my daily scripture reading anywhere I am! Love it!!! Its user friendly features, growing resource, and rich content are to be highly commended. The features within the app are well thought out. Users are able to keep track of their notes via intuitive app features. Account and user content backup to ShareScriptures.com is integral and equally important! Well done!!! I would like to see in the future: 1) the ability to highlight a sentence(s) versus the whole verse. At the time of this review, highlighting encompasses the whole verse, and 2) I've noted minimal misspelled words (e.g., Hymm 182 verse 4: the word "rtake" should be partake.). These need to be corrected. In conclusion, the developer is highly attentive to his/her customer's needs! The app is worth every penny; I highly encourage you to purchase this app!

This is an incredible app. I was amazed at how much I used the original version and now with extra features I use the new version even more. I am really impressed with this version with it's additional features and content such as the hymns with music. I also love being able to sync my notes with the new desktop application. I prefer to type notes on my desktop and then sync with my iTouch.Being in Australia, I get the Ensign downloaded to my iTouch long before the Ensign arrives in the mail!One minor improvement I would like is to have an icon showing that My Content was actually downloading

LDS people are pathetically cheap. I am embarrassed.

It is frightening how pathetically cheap LDS people are. I am a software developer and I know first hand how much it costs to develop software. Who cares if they are making money on this. It is a great product and all you people complaining about the price should not have bought your 600 iphone if it was going to cost this much. I do not own an iphone or itouch. I paid the 15 bucks because it is next to nothing and I want to support companies who are trying hard to do well. Maybe if we spend a little more money on companies like this rather than all the worldly companies we all spend so much money on, some companies with good goals would have a little more influence. Please quit being so stingy and help companies like this grow.

It may be silly, but three different scriptures apps on my iTouch (How else could I learn which one I really want to use?).
Well, THIS one is the one I go to all the time. I'm very happy with my purchase and the support.
Additionally, I speak German and am learing Spanish, so the ability to add my own content is very nice. Between different apps, I find this one allows me to use international characters easily, and it shows them correctly on the screen. A competitor's app confuses the characters with faulty symbols instead of letters. So, again, I like this app the best.

I must say that I was a little hesitant at first to buy this app, but, trust me, it's great! It's very quick (even on my original iPhone, although on the 3GS it is very fast) and I have yet to have it crash on me. I've been using this app for a couple of months and I love it. It has almost every manual you would want, quick search, and easy navigation. I also love the syncing, which, for me, is the first time I've ever seen this feature offered with an application on any mobile OS. I haven't used the monthly magazine sync yet, but I'm sure it will live up to my expectations! Thanks for such a great app!

FYI - there is a free version of just the standard works called The Scriptures in the Reference category.Glad Apple finally approved this! Thanks for putting this together. Some great suggestions for improvements in the other reviews (particularly the navigation enhancements), how about one more: is there any way to incorporate a marking or underlining tool like some of the simple drawing or sketching apps? Maybe different colors for different reasons to mark?Not complaining - thrilled I have these on my phone now! I don't know the time and expense to develop this, but happy to compensate the effort (if you can afford the iPhone, you can afford $15 for this :)Keep it up (please).

They've fixed issues regarding updates with a backup utility and have added some great functionality:-online collaboration-topical studies (i.e. all scriptures concerning faith can be tagged)-multi-colored highlighting-customization (can store patriarchal blessings, YanCEware data)I had 800+ church books from GospeLink 2000 that I was able to store on my PocketPC on my 2 Gb memory card via YanCELink. Thanks to this update, I'll be able to add these to my iPhone. Two other features would be nice:-Highlighting, underlining, bolding words-Tracking reading progress against personal goals

I can't say enough good about this app. It is well worth the price. I use it daily and love having the entire stamdard works and so much more with me wherever I go. It is so handy during Gospel Dovtrine class to follow along with the lesson and have the scriptures and quotes readily available. I also no longer have to worry about not having my manual with me for RS. It is with me when ever I have my iPhone, which is virtually all the time.

This application is a favorite on my phone for sure. I have no problem with the price. This guys is putting in a lot of work to make a good application and updates it all the time with new and useful LDS content. I'm happy to pay the one time fee of $15. The newest version is a great improvement too. It's much faster now, the search option actually really works well, and I love to see more content added on a regular basis like he does.
