Reviews:
The Best Bible App! By: bryans67 - May 15, 2009 Version: 1.0 I used this app as my sole means of taking notes in Bible class the other night, and was blown away by how well it worked. The landscape keyboard made taking notes much faster with fewer mistakes, and the ability to quickly jump back and forth between scriptures and notes and the ability to quickly copy and paste scriptures made note taking a breeze. I e-mailed the notes to myself and my wife, and when I got home copied them over into a document with all my other notes. Done in 5 minutes instead of the usual 30 it takes me to type up my hand-written notes. This is the most useful app I've ever purchased!
Best Bible APP So Far!!! By: God's Not Mad At You - Jun 29, 2009 Version: 1.2 I have been looking for a bible app with a good note taking option, this is it. Very simple to use, well thought out interface, easy to access books/chapters/verses. Love the OT/NT/ALL buttons, makes finding your way around the bible much quicker. Also very easy to cut & paste scripture directly into your notes. Well worth the purchase price, I have several other bible apps but this one is definitely my favorite. I look forward to whatever updates may be coming in the future, but I already give it 5 Stars for a good solid start out of the gate. It has now been given one of the coveted spaces on my quick launch bar.
Very Happy By: EzraEngle - Jul 27, 2009 Version: 1.3 Elegant for my use when sending a verse to a youth asking a question by text message or instant message or Twitter. I feel it is more than worth it. I contacted the developer a few weeks ago and was suprised to see the issues resolved I had with the previous version are now resolved. Now a wish list :) I would like to see an auto hiding option for the reading area toolbars if there is a nice way to do that in a future version, a smoother transition for the font size changes (it's a little choppy) and a dark interface for when my battery is low or I want to read in a dark room without glowing too much distracting others. Everything is great and meets my needs now. It is exactly what I need now, so 5 stars! Great work.
Near Perfection By: Orangermac - Aug 23, 2009 Version: 1.3 This will be my first 5 star rated app. It's definitely worth the cost. Navigation options are handled well. Being able to select multiple verses and email them is huge for me (this bugged me about the YouVersion app). Notes seem like a nicely implemented feature so far. I agree with the previous poster that a white on black UI option would be nice and definitely on the autohide request for the menu and toolbars, but honestly the interface is really good the way it is already. The ability to swipe left and right to move forward or backwards a chapter would be great as well (like Stanza or Photo app). Again, this is a 5 star app without these features, but they'd be really nice to have. Thanks!...more thoughts after using for a few weeksThe search bar is a super quick way to get to a book chapter:verse. Much better than the roll dials, in my opinion. Double tapping notes and references works well after adjusting to the behavior. My readings have bern greatly enriched by these; there's so little overhead that I'm using these many times more than with a physical book where you need to flip to and from different chapters. Now I wish that the related pasage references in the Gospels would function the same.
Theeee Best NIV Bible By: Happy Buyer - Sep 2, 2009 Version: 1.3 I've purchased several more expensive Bibles in the app store and was not using them because though they had note taking and Highlight features I found that the navigation and usabilty of the Bibles were not user friendly at all and actually awkward to use so I was not using them! I began to search again and would have passed this one up if it were not for the reviews that I read. And now I must add my review in hopes others like me searching for the perfect Bible app find this one! I now cannot stop reading the Bible because it's so fluid to use and taking notes and filing them into my own Directories for quick referencing is so user friendly! I love it. And I want to say "Thank you" to whoever the Developer is. The "only" thing missing from makiing this 100% perfect is the "Highlight" feature that I had in the other Bibles I never use where you can Highlight Text in different colors etc. Other than that. This is definetely thee best Bible app in the store.
Best Bible app on the iPhone. Period. By: TexasRick - Sep 15, 2009 Version: 1.3 I'm floored at how easy and powerful the tools and navigation are. The fact that I can use the bible offline if key, as the sanctuary at my church is not wired and there's no Edge signal in there. Quick and easy searching, cross-referencing, note-taking and copying of text...this app has it all. And it looks great too. WELL worth the $8. You won't be disappointed. Well done, Tecarta! Bravo!
Very good By: braddawson - 15-Jun-2009 Version: 1.2 I like this app for a number of reasons especially the ability to sort the books of the bible alphabetically meaning I no longer have to sing the song to find the book I am after. I like the flip between text and notes, but wish there was a way to differentiate between verses copied into notes and my notes themselves. A different font or colour should do the trick. Also better references would be good like in a study bible. Additional benefit is the funny looks you get in church when people think you are checking Email/text during the sermon. Look forward to seeing how this is all done in SDK 3.0
Epic Win! By: Calderoni - Dec 3, 2009 Version: 1.3 This is the most intuitve Bible App I have used. You can literally be listening to a sermon, type in a few of the words from the quote scripture and jump right to the reference. Also the auto suggestion for books that allows you to then add a more drilled down reference or jump to the start of the book, great idea! This this is fast and snappy too. Glad to see some developers understand usability!
Look no further - BEST BIBLE APP EVER !!!! By: Kellster0123 - Jan 30, 2010 Version: 1.3 This is my first time ever to write a review for an application. Of all the apps I own - this one is DEFINITELY one of my favorites. I believe I've been using it for about a year or so and back then I paid $8.99 for it. It is DEFINITELY worth $8.99 - so $5.99 = an AWESOME deal !! It's extremely useful for me whenever I'm in church and I can copy and paste Bible verses during the sermon. I also like how all of my church notes (sermons, Sunday school, church conferences, etc.) are all within this app and is extremely useful for me to easily access whenever I am having my quiet time with The Lord. It is one of the best and most useful apps that I have ever used/owned. DEFINITELY purchase this app - it will quickly become one of your favorites. You won't regret it. : )

Great app By: 11zp1975 - Dec 14, 2009 Version: 1.3 This is a true blessing to have. Very easy to use, crossreference verses and nice super fast searches. I would like to see if it is possible to highlight certain parts of copied notes or bookmarks and last thing is to be able to delete unwanted or accidental bookmarks in the history section. Thanks for this app and for those who are looking for an affordable bible app I would suggest getting it. After all a normal bible would run much higher price wise and this app is a no brainer when it comes down to portability and speed of searches.

Awesome app! By: Kmallen - Jan 2, 2010 Version: 1.3 I've been using this app for a while now and it's great. I initially had only the NIV translation, but discovered that touching the grey translation button allows me to switch to other translations. I have since bought the Message from within the app and I'm able to use both offline and switch between is fast. The ability to copy multiple verses and paste them them into the notes or any other app is very cool. Many thanks to the developers.

Great Software! ...And A Suggestion. By: pbs123 - May 10, 2009 Version: 1.0 Comments on Tecarta NIV Bible (Ver 1.0) - 5/10/09 I have been using the Tecarta NIV Bible for a few weeks now and have really enjoyed it. The software offers some great functionality, has a clean, intuitive interface, offline reading, and the Bible text/formatting looks great, too. Note that for several years, I have been using Bible software on my mobile devices and previously used Laridian products on my Palm Treo. I do have a suggestion for the Tecarta NIV Bible that I really feel would make this great product even better: The word search function works very well and provides a wonderful layout for the search results. Results are displayed in a list with a smaller font size, where the verse displayed on top in bold and the first several words the passage are displayed beneath. A thin, gray line separates the results. My suggestion (and personal request) would be to make the Boookmarks and Notes listings appear the very same way. --That is, with the same font size and 3-line preview listing. This would be very helpful in quickly getting a sense of the content of each item without having to manually open and close each, until the desired one is located. For example, the Bookmarks listing currently displays the scripture reference only, and in a large, bold font (much larger than the search results list). The only way to see what that verse is about is by going down the list and opening/closing each. As the bookmarks list becomes longer, it starts to get more daunting. Being able to see the first few words of the passage (in addition to the reference) would make locating important passages much quicker. Again, if the format was made identical to the search results list, that would do it! I very much like using the Tecarta NIV Bible and this requested enhancement would make it even easier to use. I hope you can incorporate this into a future update. Thanks!
