Preschool Adventure - Recommended!

My 2.5y/o knows how to work the iphone almost as good as I can, unlocking and viewing the photos all the time. I bought this app because he loves animals and it said Preschool. Well, now he's even more obsessed with my phone! Colours, Shapes & Sounds games are great for general knowledge and are a bit of fun but he loves the Matching game, the Body game (which encourages him to focus and concentrate as does his favourite -) Numbers which is helping him to visually recognise numbers. Great app, well done!!

First of all I'm so glad thy they have considered the kiddies when creating Apps. My niece loves my phone and whenever she sees it she asks to play with my "iPhone!!". Is there by any chance that there will be an update soon?!? I find that my niece might be too old for this. She is in preschool (just turned 3), but this App isn't challenging her. Great for 2 year olds and the price is just right. Can't wait for an App that is for 3-4 year olds. Keep up the good work! :)

Mute doesn't work with most recent update. Please fix
UPDATED REVIEW 10/8/08:
I contacted the developer regarding the problem listed above and he immediately replied, explaining why they needed to update the sound engine:
"The old audio was causing some instability in a very few number of iPhones/iPods . . . Apple recommends . . . NOT using the "Phone Ringer audio engine" but use the actual "Devices Volume audio engine" . . . the mute button is actually reserved for phone use only... " He simply suggests turning down the volume (now why didn't I think of that?)
I'm Changing my Review to 4.5 stars (there's always room for improvement) because otherwise this program rocks! I have a 1 and 3 year old and they both love preschool adventure. It's their favorite of all of the apps we've downloaded for them - it is he most age-appropriate. I can't wait to see how this program continues to evolve and what other apps these developers come up with for the kids. KUDOS!

My daughter loves this game! She especially enjoys putting the monkey together and the animal sounds. Every time she sees my iPhone, she begs, "Phone, Phone, Phone?" The graphics are well done. The animation is simple but fun for kids to play. The colors and shapes keep their attention while the sounds will keep them smiling. The characters in each section are fun for kids to learn. Definitely a five star game for my 2 year old.

I downloaded this app, since my 15 month old is practicing her animal sounds. I had read the reviews, so I expected a quality app, but this exceeded my expectations. It really is very nicely animated and is clearly created with care. Most importantly, my daughter really enjoys getting to hear her favorite animals make their sounds. We were at the pediatrician the other day, and it was the perfect distraction for her!
I should also note that I thought I was having a problem with the application's sounds. I wrote to the developer and in literally less than a couple of hours, I had a response offering a number of potential solutions -- starting with a friendly reminder to check the physical mute button. Lo and behold, I had forgotten I had muted the phone, since I had just used another application that didn't abide by the mute switch, so I thought the sound was on. I flipped the switch, and immediately was greeted with the terrific sounds. So I had made a silly mistake, but I was really pleased by the speed and attention of the support team. It was clear that if I really did have an issue (other than my dumb mistake!) they were going to make it right.
So in summary, this is a terrific app, backed by terrific support. And most importantly, my baby girl loves it!

This is a great game for toddlers. They learn their shapes, colors, animal sounds, and body parts as well as keeping them occupied and quiet when you need them to be. I had to visit my grandmother in the hospital and I just turned this game on and gave it to my son and you hardly knew he was there. The only downside is when I have to pry it out of his crying hands to make a call. Definitely worth the $$$.

My 2 1/2 yr old lad knows how to flick through my phone to find this application, and then he plays one game - hits X and then goes onto another. Scares me!
Very useful for boring shopping trips - visits to Doctors, or just sitting on the couch at the end of the day reading a book and playing this game before he goes to bed.
Some idiots will say "Well, you should take your child out more..." der!!! This is for those times when you're not out - It's not a replacement for doing other stuff....

My two year old loves this game. Since he started playing it, his touch skills have improved, going from just prodding the screen many times to accurately tapping and dragging. His favourite is the body game, the monkey yelling at the end is a great pay off. If I could change anything it would be the sounds. They're good, but the sfx have an American spoken section followed by a sound effect. I think that putting the sound first, followed by an English voice would make it perfect, making multiple taps work better.

My son likes to play with my phone. This allows him to do so without messing up my functions. He is able to navigate through the various games. He laughes at the monkey, and never tires of the sounds from the sea. This is on update, and only getting better. I'll tell you, after spending a lot of $$$$ on toys that don't keep his interest for more than three minutes, this is the BEST $.99 I've ever spent. Happy Mommy!

A great little app - my 14 month old LOVES it! He especially likes the animation/sound of the chicken ... ;)
It would be great to see additional animals added - perhaps home/farm/jungle categories or similar? Also, perhaps a vehicles section (city sounds?) ...
Finally, by way of suggestion: this app could EASILY be marketed as an English-learning app here in Japan. If a brief Japanese-language description were added, explaining that all of the dialog is presented in simple, easy to understand English, I think Japanese parents would buy it as a study aid for their kids. Just a suggestion.

After reading these reviews I thought I'd give it a shot. The free bubble apps only hold my 2.5yo daughter's attention for so long and she wants to try to play Super Monkey Ball (which she does surprisingly well for a few minutes). But I showed her this one a few days ago and she won't put it down! I let her play it for about 20 minutes or so and then I cut her off. She asks about playing it all the time now, especially before bed. What a great piece of software, 3DAL -- nice job. I wish there was more apps like this for preschoolers... especially one for numbers and the alphabet. The one other preschool game in the iTunes store is an alphabet app and it doesn't have very good reviews. More apps!!! Thank you!!

Absolutely fab app my 2yr old little boy has learning difficulties due to ill health and can honestly say that his cheeky face lights up each time we play the games it has made a vast improvement to his learning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this to anyone regardless of their mental ability. I thank the makers for a superb game have struggled to find something suitable for him till I got this its truly mustard (that means great lol)

Great game for the little one. She can't play Wii, or the DS, just yet so this comes in handy. She loves it! "Daddy, can I play the Animal game" is what I hear all the time. I set it up and off she goes on her own. It's great when she gets fussy in the car, a restaurant or elsewhere. I get a kick out of some of the sounds and watching a toddler work the iPhone is priceless! She loves "her" iPod Video, but this is becoming her #1 distracton.

This is a great app. for kids 1 to 3. It's like having interactives books that teach colours, shapes, etc. I don't know how you could complain about paying $1.20, you couldn't buy 1 book for that let alone 4 interactive books. If you're after something to challenge your kids teach them yourself, don't leave it to your phone. This is just something to entertain them for a limited time when you're on the go. It doesn't replace parenting!

This application may not entertain older children at all, but it's not designed to! But it keeps my 2 year old happy for quite a bit... long enough to get through his breathing treatment... long enough to sit quietly in the grocery check out lane... long enough to wait for the doctor... get my drift?! A true tantrum-preventer... and that's worth way more than the buck they're charging!! And for those people who think we just "give" our iPhones to our toddlers, come on... we're not that dumb. This is a great application where I can just hold the phone to supervise, and let my little guy play. Super easy to use. He loves it... and therefore, so do I.

My daughter loves this app it can get repetitive after the kids learn how it works more options would be great. Would love to see more things like alternative scenes for each category. Maybe a jungle scene for the colours one for example. It would also be nice to see something that incorporated the alphabet. The new numbers dot to dot game looks like a lot of fun I can't wait to let my daughter try it

My 2 1/2 year old daughter LOVES the app, and I think it's great that she learns colors, shapes and sounds while having fun. DEFINITELY recommended if you have toddlers. On my wishlist for future upgrades: More "Modules" (or activities) or different activities for each of the 4 main ones. Like having different animals you can "glue" body parts to, or different animals that make sounds. Other than that, GREAT app.

This is sooo cool. It has matching, body parts, shapes, and colors and cute graphics and sounds. I bought it for my baby, now toddler, and at first she just liked the cause-and-effect, but it has real longevity as an app because it can help her learn some basic concepts. Plus it is a great little entertainer for me when I am waiting in line somewhere or I am rushing to get dinner ready -- and it's all in my phone! Right now I am trying to stock up on these things so I don't have to carry around a bag of distractions every time I just want to buy groceries, haha! Great app, please make another =)

This app is a LIFE SAVER. My 2-year old daughter LOVES it, and actually asks for it when we go to a resturant or some other similarly boring location. She WANTS to play it and it keeps her entertained and happy.
And in each section I can join in and say "where's the cow?" and she'll point right at the cow and it'll go moooo and she's thrilled. And she LOVES the monkey in the body section. She loves that when she gets it put together it goes "Yaaaayy!!!" and she claps and goes "Yaay" with it.
She's got it toally figured out - the little X in the corner to exit out of the individual games to go back to the menu and select one of the others. Its crazy what a 2-year old can figure out.
I really wish that they'd release more of these. Get a little more variety so that it doesn't get old / redundant. I'd pay $5 for this game, it's so great. The price is fantastic.
If you guys make more, you could make them bigger / more variations on the same thing, just to mix it up some. This $.99 is a great intro to get parents of toddlers hooked, but like I said, I'd pay even more, it's such a great app! Please make more! I'd love you for it.
