I can count the number of times that an application changed the way I communicated on my fingers. From telnet to the original Netscape browser, from the first Instant Messenger application to the earth shaking that followed the introduction of Skype, the truly revolutionary stuff is rare.
CoolIris has managed to create a giant leap in our ability to perceive the Internet by simply bringing search closer to our animal perceptions. That is the best way I can describe it. You do a search and let your spinal cord handle it from there, brushing your field of view this way and that, zooming in and out, you are struck with the realization that this is how we are supposed to look for things.
Hopefully, CoolIris will take next steps from here. I would love to see some work done to follow contextually relevant branches (paths to similar searches, for example). This company has an opportunity to do something great here. They'll probably end up being purchased by google.

I just downloaded the firefox add on and that's how I found this app. The iPhone version works just like the Firefox one and it works great! It is so much easier to view photos and videos in the scrolling way. The coolest thing is when searching for photos you can download them straight to your camera roll and have a new background in seconds. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an easier way to look for visual media, store, share and watch it!

The only thing I can really ask for is the inclusion of DeviantART in the "My Pictures" section and the ability to browse picture sites like DeviantART and Flickr without having to do a search (as in Daily Deviations and different art categories). This update addressed everything else I wanted, especially accessing favorites! And it has a very professional and polished look and feel. This is deffinitly a must have app, for the iPhone and Mac/PC. A few thoughts for future updates: • The ability to create multiple customizable walls (like favorites). • The ability to add RSS feeds and subscriptions from the desktop version and keeping them synced with your iPhone/iPod (like favorites). • The ability to browse photos on your device. This would make Cooliris a considerable alternative to 3D Gallery. If you're having trouble with crashing or slowness- try restarting your iPhone/iPod.

I love Cooliris plug-in for FireFox. It is my favorite add-on overall (except Firebug I guess but that's professional needs).
And this app seems to have some performance issues -- the animation while zooming to image is not smooth and I've got unexpected app termination for several times. Hope my iPhone reboot will help a little.
Accelerometer scroll works wonderful and after all this is the old good Cooliris. Thanks for the app, guys and for it is free. Finding it was the brightest event of this evening. I’m not sure if I gonna use it widely because of its heavy weightiness but I love it for its look and impression.
Oh, yes, and I've got no uninstallation problems.

I don't see why Cooliris is such a bad app. Well, I haven't un-installed it (and probably never will) and I couldn't be happier. It does need a video function, like Poptiq, and for DeviantArt it should have a Story reading one too. If possible, maybe a website search bar that searches for a website and puts it in the search bars amongst Google and Yahoo. But still, now I can look at pictures quickly and efficiently without using Safari. Great Job Cooliris, Inc.

my only complaint is that the app lags a bit if there are a lot of pics
also, it would be awesome if you could somehow integrate this to the photo library in the iphone
other than that

This app is awesome but please make it so you can save photos from it. Also it would help if it could search a little faster. P.S. For those people it is crashing for just reboot ur iPod before using it for the first time. ( if u forget just reboot it before using the app again) To reboot - hold down the power button until it says slide to power off then power it off and turn it back on (u need to use the power button to turn it back on the home button does not work.)

This appliance is incredible!!! It gathers all images from the net quicker than your normal browser, and presents them in a 3D presentation, like a wall that you can speed up and down, running alongside the images until you find what you're looking for! Really one of the most impressive I've ever seen. The negative review of this product is incomprehensible, if not just from some sort of malice....

I have used this on my mac & it is just an amazing photo search utility. It even includes deviantART as a built in search engine. Requests for future updates 1. add the instant option to save a photo to your iPhones camera roll & 2. please add "ffffound.com" to your search engine. Those 2 options would complete this app for me with my utmost satisfaction. WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR ??? GET THIS APP NOW !!!

This is a wonderful program. I had the problem with the uninstall, too and I was told by the developer that it was pulled from the app store until a workaround could be developed. It was pulled and I could not restore it and I really missed it. I will never try to uninstall it again, now that the new version (which still says 1.0) has been put back into the store. I was able to download the copy and it is so much more than just a wall of photos. You can send them to your email. You can read the news story behind them. It looks beautiful on the desktop as a plugin for Safari, as well as other browsers, too.

this app seriously changes the way i search for photos and how i view image search now. it's like having the biggest and most awesome photo collection at your fingertips (literally). the 3d wall is seriously amazing, the pics populate this massive wall that you can explore with the swipe of a finger.
the discover feature is definitely worth checking out as well, neat visual way to keep up with daily news (sports, election stuff, etc).

Music, videos, images, news... And more... It's my first time seeing this app so I'm guessing it's fairly new. Give them some time and this app will be flawless. Almost there guys. Great job. Basicaly what this app is. It's a convinient shortcut of all the entertainment on your iphone/itouch. Come together in One single app. Find videos, images, music, hear latest news and so much more. Easy to use interface looks vert sophisticated. And ITS FREE!!! Download this APP. hoy won't regret it. : )

It still reacts slowly when attempting to select, zoom, and scroll pictures. Sometimes when zooming the image, it somehow shifts to portrait view and it still crashes when its inable to perform whatever action (And I remember to reboot iPod before using). The motion scrolling still needs more tweaking. Thought the update did fix the annoying processing issue and loads faster now; that I'm very happy about and newly added photographic sites. Although it still needs more search sites like Photoshop.com, photobucket, and Big Canvas and please fix the mentioned issue above.

I was searching for a Flickr application when I stumbled across this one. What a find! I can search all my favorite sites, like deviantART and YouTube, seemlessly from one place, and easily save anything I like! I moved this app from my last (fourth) home page to my second, which I've rarely done. One suggestion would be to improve on the sensitivity when browsing. It's a bit too easy to accidentally choose an image while trying to "scroll."

I have this on firefox (desktop) and comes in handy for art reference. The iphone version is just as sleek with a few things missing. Navigating is amazingly fast and even utilizes the tilt feature to pan through images. Love the app, however once you select an image, its just too slow for it to completly load in higher resolution on 3G. Wifi is much faster but still not at desktop speeds. Its free so I cant complain, just giving others what to expect. Still very nice.

As cool as it did for firefox

I use PicLens (now named Cooliris) for firefox for quite a long time and I eager to use it on my iPhone.
Now it comes true.
It is a really fancy pic viewer and explorer.
Install it and Enjoy it~

I updated my review after testing it for several hours and low down the rank to 4 stars only.
Here comes the problem:
1. The speed is quite slow, even using Wifi after a cold reboot.
2. It still cause some apps to crash, I have to reboot my iPhone to fix it.
3. The loading icon and information icon at the bottom are too big.

I hope Cooliris can improve it asap.
For the newbie to this application, I still highly recommend you install and try it.

Pretty cool.. Some problems with clicking and viewing on iPod of version is perfect. Oh and iPod one freezes and exit every two minutes then I have to re enter the stupid thing again huh five times in 12 minutes... That's just reduculous but all in all good app (ps, don't delete just keep it I heard it can mess up yur pod and itunes libary. A few tweaks hear and there and I would use it more often.

Man, this is perfect. It is a little slow,but other than that, it's great! It has a beautful layout and really works, I wouldn't take the time to write this out if it weren't.
