Yes, the controls are really amazing. But there are two bad things about it. 1) It's fun just for a while, it seems to be more experimental app than a game. 2) It often crashes my iPhone when it launches. You might say all software has some bugs, but this one crashes my iPhone about every second time I launch the game so far!!! And I hate that. But it's free, so it's good to carry it in your pocket.

Well, what's not been said already? This game is just a TON of fun, it's my "go to" timewaster now when I've got a few minutes to spare. No frills, just fun. And I highly recommend just bypassing the Easy/Medium levels and going straight to Hard - it might be a little challening the first few times but once you get the hang of it the game really comes alive. The easy modes are simply boring by comparison!

This game is insane!!! I love it so much! If you can overlook the graphics (it's easy to forgive) you'll have one heck of a time with this. Some things I'd like in future updates: 1. The option to play in landscape mode 2. Upload high scores 3. Make the third party tracks better. I tried and it just brought me back to the home screen. 4. Faster!!!! I wanna go faster!! Either way, you'll have a blast with this. It's free, so you have nothing to lose =)

Cube Runner Addicts Unite!

I first saw this type of game from the website Pointlesssites.com where they have a version very similar to this game. They don't have different levels of difficulty for you to select from off the top but the game gets harder as you progress through the game. However, they do look similar when you go into the glowing green stage.
However, I have noticed from time to time that this game lags and tries to catch up to itself by progressing the arrow shaped craft through part of the level, skipping some cubes that you are supposed to dodge. Luckily, that doesn't happen often.
BTWZ: I got a high score of 149 on the Hard Game which is higher than the 145 on the screenshot of the game =]

Best Free Game Ever

This has got to be among the best of the iPhone games released on launch day. This game is fun, challening, and kept me coming back for more. Yes, hard to believe but currently I find this more appealing than Super Monkey Ball. The control is just so percise and you can also calibrate it to the position you want which is great feature. In super monkey ball you have to hold the iPhone in a specific position which is just rediculous in my opinion. I suggest you download this game. It is free and you don't have anything to lose. :D

This is a great game. The fluidity if the controls is a huge plus in the game. Simple graphics keep it easy to play while the presicion of the steering is a challenging aspect of the game. By the way there is a little suprise for you at around 140 secs on hard and 240 on easy. Great free game definitly in the top five apps, addicting and generally awesome this game is worth all of your 0 dollars. OsKKaR

best game i ever downloaded... super addicting...love the music...i actually played this before on something else and am glad they made it for ipod... awsome... fanomanal.... did i mention it was addicting?......its fun to imagine you are a bird flying south for the winter, and the houses and trees you have to avoid look like blocks because your on crack. that reminds me. this game is more addicting than cocaine... best. game. ever. in hard mode you fly so fast... mabye the bird drank a Red Bull.........it gives u wings.... soooo... anyway, this game is the best ever and you should defenetly download it.... one last thing... super glad its free...

Framerate - smoother than the racers available in the app store.
Sound - none but I heard the author is planning for an update soon that will include sound and other big surprises
Controls - very good controls but I would prefer if it were a bit more sensitive
Levels - Unlimited levels via http://cuberun.org. This site has an online level editor that you can use to create your own level packs. You can also upload your level pack to the site. After you create your level pack go to the forum and post it there to prove its yours. You will also get feedback. Get tons of other levels made by the other members of the community on the forum. This is the feature that sets this app apart from the rest.

If I were the developer, I would not have made this download free, but s/he has made it completely free! How generous! Best person in the world! And to the person who complained about the idea being copied: ahem, ITS FREE! Only a matter of time before the developer realizes how much money they can be making and attatches a price tag to this classic epic, so download as soon as you can!! Sometimes simple is the best option. At least in the case with Cube Runner. Everything about this game from the top on down is solid. Andy did an amazing job of really encompassing what the iPhone has to offer and delivered a solid game. Hopefully one day we will see a full-on, full-featured, full-graphics game that will just blow us away?????
- And just a quick note, if you have not downloaded/purchased the actual application from the App Store, please do not post up a review.

To be honest; if an app is free I don't think there is any need to complain (aside from if it is completely US-Based!), esspecially with Cube Runner because it is free app that is actually a lot of fun for just passing time on a bus journey or instead of doing work in class. It also sort of has that 'Snake' effect to it because you go back on a semi regular basis to beat your old high score when you get bored.

It looks a little rough on the edges and the interface isn't as polished as one would like, but don't let that stop you from downloading this. It's addictive and ridiculously fun in (the slightly hidden; look under Options) landscape mode. Anyone who's ever played any graphing calculator games can tell you how fun deceivingly simple games can be and this is another great example of that no-frills fun. Not to mention that this game shows off just how accurate the iPhone accelerometer is, especially in the intimidating but fun hard levels.

I really did not know this game was going to be on my very top list! It's very smooth on turns that give you a gliding effect. This gives a feeling of something that gives out control. However, the third level is hard on quick turns. It's addictive to the effect of the gliding. The turns and going in between the tight cubes is quite awarding. I have tried, up to todays date (July 18, 2008) other apps and have found no enjoyment of pass time as this! It is a very simple app, but very efficient for both parties. It's a free application game and I take my hat off for such a great effort of making the beginning of what can be done with such smooth action as this! I have tried others and they don't have it.. (It's choppy on movement) I highly recommend this great achievement for Andy Qua for this first month of a great free development!

Wow I love this game!! Not only because it's awesome cuz u can steer like ur driving but I can challenge my friends and we wouldn't stop playing until the battery went out!!! But then we would plug it in and start playing again!!! To conclude; I have never played a game that I love so much that I would fully recommend this game to EVERYONE!!!! So plz get this game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have gotten countless hours of fun with this game even with just the three default levels. Great for passing back and forth with friends and trying to get high scores. This would be a fantastic free app with just the three defaults, but with the ability to add hundreds of level packs, this is a steal. This is better than many paid games I've played, and certainly one of the best two free apps, period. If you don't download this app, you are a fool.

Man this game is so freakin addicting. I have had it for a few weeks and I'm still not bored of it. It is my favorite app and you look kind of retarded waving your iPod touch or iPhone around when your playing it lol. My high score in easy is 1063. Man you really need to be patient as the game gets harder. On hard I always crash on the curvy part and the highest I have gotten is 145. It's intense! If you haven't downloaded this game do it right now! I'm surprised this is free!

this game does everything it says it does, and there are hundreds of levels you can download on the website. I'm still downloading levels that start with 0 and haven't even gotten to the a's yet. you can also make your own levels, post them and tell your friends the codes so they can download them. my only problem with this app is that you can only make levels on your computer and not your iPhone. I also wish that u could change between portrait and landscape just by turning the phone in the main menu instead of having to go into settings and adjust it yourself other than that, the app works perfectly; there are no noticeable framerate slowdowns whatsoever and it has a very unique visual style as well. I give it a 5/5

If you don't want to shell out the cash for Monkey Ball, or you get frustrated by all the mazes and turns in MB, then look no further than Cube Runner. This game is fantastic, simple, no-frills flying. You dodge cubes to protect your plane(?) from being smashed to bits. No lives in this game, just scores that increase according to the time you are flying. Great use of the accelerometer. Great job, Andy!

With all the games out there on iTunes and on third party apps, I recommend Cube Runner. I am not much into games, but as soon as you play Cube Runner, you will not want to put down your iPhone. The graphics are not complex as well as the interface, but the purpose of the game is what makes it all worthwhile. The objective of the game is to go through many of the different levels without hitting the 3D cubes. You have 3 levels of difficulty: easy, medium, and hard. For my usage, I use hard. I hope to see some updates for this. I do not even know what I else I want for this app because it is already good as it is.
