Great app!!! Honestly I can say that this is the best app on my iPod touch. I think this app is great but, I think they need to add more to it. I have beaten this app in a day or two, and I want you to add more levels, weapons, enemys, and other things for this app. I suggest that you add money, multiple players, battles between players online and on one single device, being able to upgrade your Spartan, making a custom player, and buying helping players, and whatever you think should be added in one or a few updates. I have also bought this app when it was 10$ and is now 6$ and I hope that iTunes makes it that if an app goes down in price that they refund the price. I really hope that these changes happen and look forward to seeing them in updates.

The iPhone 3GS is an amazing unit and the Hero of Sparta takes advantage of the speed and touch screen capabilities. Each scene is introduced with cinematic short clips that are quite entertaining and captivating - but you do have the option to skip, as you desire. The graphical interface includes a virtual joystick, shield and sword button. Special moves are facilitated through prompts with awesome killer moves! The graphics are great, even with multiple characters on screen at the same time. As you find various gems in the game, your attributes make your warrior more powerful. For the most part the game us already scripted and leaves little for exploring . Having to fight many assailants at one time is challenging. Navigation through the virtual world is smooth and execution of fighting is quite easy. The graphics are very good, but at times, quite small in certain scenes. The soundtrack sounds incredible. You can play in short bursts with your progress saved at routine intervals by checkpoints. As you complete a level, you move to other 'campaigns' but you are free to play the campaigns again. The bosses at the end of major campaigns are quite challenging to fight like the Devil Dogs and the Prince of Darkness. After achiving the end of the games objectives, you can replay the game with all of your attributes to create full and total carnage. The game will take about 10 to 12 hours to complete but for 99 cents, this game has more depth and details for cartridge or disk based games costing 30 to 50 times more. Overall, this game takes the iPhone up to another level of gameplay and rivals other handheld titles. I highly recommend this game.

to buy this game and frankly I'm proud you guys did a great job the story line is awasome(a sequeal would be cool) and about the joy stick being wierd those guys must be wrong in the head because I love ishtars tears and the bows big ol' attack is awsome averal it's the best game I got it's at least as good as like halo 1 not two or three but as good as one This is the best game for iphone Worth $60

First off the graphics need some work They're ok otherwise The audio could also be enhanced and a few more levels could be added. The slash n bash gmeplay is very enjoyable and the maxed out weapons look very cool. Over all this game is great and worth more than 99c PS Rainmaker Apparently you are used to console gaming, the graphics aren't completey horrible. I agree that the storyline is short and that the plot is lame. But also, there should be a boss for each end of level.

I'm sad I paid more than a buck for it but it is a pretty good game worth playing to pass time I like the variations but I think the end drain on the bow is a bit too much as you don't get it back fast enough to keep using it. I do like the diff cariotions of combos and charge ups with each weapon being different. I think the boss finishers should be for every weapon though. Buy it people it is fun.

Awesome game and for only a dollar. Buy it. TO GAMELOFT- I know you probably never read this and don't really care about just one of your many customers I have an idea fir a great app. You could make a 3d mmorpg ( massive multiplayer online role playing game) and it would be one of a kind. I would pay 10 dollars for it. If it had a huge map with other players and monsters and quests and items it would be revolutionary for the mobile platform. But the key is it has to be in 3d with great graphics such as this game. Examples of this type of game would be runescape,world of Warcraft, and diablo. I doubt you will read this and sorry for posting a long review but I had nothing better to do. Anyways you make great games and keep up the good work.

I've downloaded plenty of games on the iPhone but this one is head and shoulders above the rest. This game is PSP quality! The controls are at first Kroll like but soon realize they are better thought out and fun. You won't get bored after 15 min. like in Kroll, here you are constantly exploring in a 3-D world that is east to move around in. The genius is the defensive or block button, to defeat wave after wave of oncoming enemies, learning how to correctly block and roll is the difference between life and death. In my opinion this is game of the year for the iPhone!

Hero of Sparta is just wonderful. Plenty of replay from going back to certain levels to try out your new abilities and weapons and get more expeience, graphics that put all other apps to shame, and sound that is just great. Gameplay is awesome: run around killing your enemies with combos and focus kills, and God of War-like bosses. I havent experienced much lag; I have a 16gb iPod Touch 2nd Gen that barely has much on it. No complaints, having played through the first few levels was worth $10. 5/5

This is an amazing game, great graphics, great plot... If your like me than you have already beaten the game, upgraded all of your weponds, and have nothing else to do with the game. I would like you to update the game, ever since I have bought the game I haven't got an update yet. I want more short little story like the one at the biggening when you click on the app. I would like it if you could do a different move in slow mo when you have a different wepon. Like if u have the axe then you do like a big swing then two little ones and then when you have the bow you smack the guy climb on the back and shoot him in the head with an arrow. The only bug/glitch I had was right at the end, when fighting the final bose, I guess I would kill it waaaay too fast and it would shoot me were he came from, first I thought that was soposed to happen, I tried to go up the stairs (in the background) but I couldn't move so I restarted and it kept doing that then final it didn't and killed the boss in like 3 minutes it really wasn't that hard. I agree with some other people who commented, make a boss only miny game and other things In the miny game. Now I know it's 3 D and every thing but make it chalengging and make a split way, it's not like you have a big choice were to go, it's either straught or back. Puts some puzzles in it. I would like it if it were a little like resident evil1 or 2. Now thoughs were really hard and fun. I didn't beat that game for almost a MONTH, and every free time I got I went straight to that game. If you made a little like that which u have a little of it but it really needs a lot more. Now I'm not saying do all of it in one update but do a little every week, just a little so other people including me know your actruly doing something. I give this a five star because over all it's a good game, I'll give it a 50 out of 5 (if I could) if you update it so I think I speak for most people THAT THIS NEEDS A UPDATE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! Thank you. LOL and I got this game for 10 dollers

This is short but I love it make a sequel dudes and make it longer by let's say 12 levels make the bow of apollo a stringed bow that doesn't take up energy give us the armor of Achilles the club of hercules the shield of Athena the lightning bolt of Zeus please give us those and many more deadly weapons worthy of us the spartans who descend from Hercules himself hear me and my brothers and sisters cry for these to be given and also let the players character speak in the scenes Long live SPARTA!!!!

I passed on this game for months. I was skeptical that it would be worth the original $5.99 price tag. I was wrong. This game is pretty top-notch. It gets a little repetitive since all the finishing-move patterns repeat over and over, but the game is still fun. Hero made me look at iPhone games differently. I now expect much more from developers which is a great thing. This game is an absolute steal at $1. Kudos Gameloft.

I loved this app so much! It reminded me of the game God of War which was an awesome game by itself, but this game to me was probably the best game i have gotten for my ipod touch! The story line was awesome and the way that you can do a "critical finish" with the monsters was awesome just i love these kind of games and this game was the BEST! The only down side to this game was that the graphics in the lil short films werent as good as i thought it would be but that doesnt matter really the gameplay was awesome!

This is beyond a shadow of a doubt, the best game I've ever played for the iPhone. It has plenty of levels, upgrades you earn as you play, multiple weapons, and lots of gameplay time. The graphics are fantastic for the iPhone. I just loved it. And at the reduced price there's absolutely no reason not to get this game. Unless you don't have a dollar. But hell, it's so good I'll give you the dollar. It's just that amazing.

I bought this game to tell "dis ipod" and "skyfunnydude" that they have a very low level of intellect. Don't give a developers product a 1 star review just because you didn't get the sale price. If I were to go to the grocery store and buy an item, only to see this item on sale the following week, I wouldn't heckle store workers telling them to give me my money back. Quit whining and come out of your mothers basement and find out what the real world is like ya phucks ;)

Out of all of my $5+ apps that i have this is my second favorite. It was an amazing steal to get it for $1 i just feel sorry for the real fans who got the game for $10 or whatever it was and now its only $1. Pros: Long story mode with three dificulty levels Upgradeable weapons Different attack combinations to keep you involved in combat I am an avid xbox player so its hard to say that the graphics are good... But they arn't bad, and impressive compared to other apps. Cons: No online play- i think there should be a "duel" mode in which players could challenge eachother to a duel with rounds or just one fight. Only 5 weapons- maybe there could be another type of orb, say yellow, which would be like your money to buy other weapons after you have finished the game. Great game though, again its a must have if you get it for $1. This game is only second to Reign Of Swords which has more hours of play, and many ways to play (different strategies and such) Buy it!!! -SLooPPy JOE

i know, my title is very challenging, but ive spent over 200$ on iphone apps, and a good 150 on games, and this has to be by far, the best game ive ever played on the iphone. gameloft did an excellent job making these graphics, although they cannot compare to perhaps an xbox 360 or a ps3, they are the best graphics ive ever seen on the iphone. the intro video is extremely compelling and well created. the gameplay is fantastic, so many creatures and obstacles you have to overcome. the controls are soo extremely easy to learn and understand even a toddler could play for hours on end. if i had to buy just 1 game from the app store, there is no doubt in my mind this woul dbe the one.

First off, it's a God of War clone--unabashedly so. From the quicktime events (mostly painless, due to forgiving touch sequences), to the orbs (red upgrades, green fills health, blue fills magic... just like GoW), to the over-the-top execution kills. Still, for being a shameless clone--to the point that your main character is a Spartan--it's a great game with fantastic graphics, smooth gameplay, a decent (if a bit easy) difficulty curve, and a variety of interesting weapons to upgrade. Your dollar's well spent here.

This game is fire right here. Way more than what I expected. You can see and do so much more in the bought version than lite. I am in the 3rd level now and truly loving it. I'll finish this game at work tomorrow. The graphics and controls are incredible. Might I add it's only $1 now. Gameloft is taking over. All we need from you now is a legit boxing game like fight night round 4 and I will be in heaven. Also street fighter 2 will be great and shouldn't take up that much memory and if it does, so be it. We need a fighting game with 10 players to choose now oh and a basketball game. Bring it on Gameloft. Show them who's the boss.

This is the first app I spent money on, and it was well worth the 6 dollars. I haven't spent so much time in an app, and it is obvious the developers spent a lot of time on this game. This game shows the capabilities as an entertainment powerhouse. The graphics remind me of (really) early psp games, although it is a bit more ps1. There are no bugs that I have experienced and replayability is high, as there is multiple difficulty levels and the ability to upgrade weapons. My only problem with it was that the touch screen analog is slightly unresponsive at times when the screen is packed with enemies, but it doesn't hinder the experience. TL;DR: if you can afford a whopper meal, you should get this game.
