My story by looch aged 31 and a half By: Looch43 - 04-Oct-2008 Version: 1.0 Today I did download this game and it was nice and I played it and I did get a score of 124 and then I wanted my friend to play it so I did press the multiplayer button and it did say you can email someone and if they happen to have an iPhone and the game installed you can play against them but my friend didn't have an iPhone and I couldn't wait until his contract was up so I did pass him my phone and he also got 124 then I had my tea I had fish fingers.
Halfway decent By: Koshe - Jan 9, 2009 Version: 6.0 This game is a lot of fun, though due care needs to be taken to avoid launching one's phone into another ZIP Code. The graphics, however, are atrocious. Sorry to throw a good free app under the bus like that, but it is that bad. Just my two cents.
UPDATE:
Graphics improved with update.
UPDATE TAKE TWO:
This latest update presents a different set of circumstances. In the old format, I once threw a 300 and it was a thrill because that was very hard to do. Now, I've maxed out my high score screen with 300's. The frame rate is also very slow, though the graphics and lane options are awesome (love the midnight bowling). The frame rate is a minor annoyance to me, but it might bother the next guy a lot, so be aware that this problem exists. But if you're looking to blow some time and get a taste of bowling immortality (albeit in a video game), this is a great app. If you're looking for a challenge, unfortunately this isn't your game. All things considered though, I retain 5 stars for great graphics and good playability.
Just as good as iGolf, (bonus rant included) By: Fireheart60 - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.0 Same thing pretty much, it's just your preference whether you like golf or bowling. But hey; it's free! By the way, I commented first. This makes me feel so gloriously superior to all you nobodies who did not attain this highly coveted honor, that I consequentially must gloat about it for all of you to see. *inhale* While on the topic of annoying commenting habits, I would like you to all select "yes" if you have ever felt the need to broadcast your views and see how many people agreed or disagreed with you utilizing the crude medium of the "was this helpful?" option to answer a usually unrelated question. If you are reading this now, consider yourself thoroughly and brutally ranted at.
amazing great superb terrific out of this world...do I get my point across By: now4real - Jul 20, 2009 Version: 6.1 I love this game...I just recently got my iphone 3GS but have had over 500 apps building up to now...and I am going thru and removing the crap apps...and there are many...but this one is great...makes you feel like you are actually bowling...this is the best game and I can't believe it is FREE...great job...anyone that even remotely likes bowling will enjoy this one and no strange people shoes, heavy balls, and loud bowling alley to go to...and the sounds and different balls and lanes are great...good job and thank you
Awesome By: Maverick6572 - Feb 5, 2009 Version: 3.0 First, there is no need to put such a major arm swing into this app as stated in the directions. I just bowled a 300 by simply laying on my side. How you ask? Just place ball slightly to the right, but thumb on bowl button, flick ipod(or iPhone) back slightly, then release bowl button. As you are watching the ball move slowly down the lane, you tilt iPod slightly in either direction, so the ball hits between the 1-3 pins. It's that easy. The ball does not have to have to hit the pins with a major force behind it.
Best app for your money. Which is free. By: da bears 23 - Jan 8, 2009 Version: 3.0 Must get this app. Sng Dont listen to these people who say the update was horrible. It was revolutionary for ur products. I agree it's a little too easy but the graphics are much better. Online play is great. The option to play turn by turn or not is cool. For u idiots who this the balll only goes straight. Tilt the phone as u aid to show a picture widescreen as you throw. Then it will curve. And the curve is more realistic than the 2.0
It's Great, stop ur whinning By: funkkyman101 - Jan 8, 2009 Version: 4.0 Ok so u can make the ball faster, don't listen to the on screen directions when u first play, to throw the ball faster u flick ur wrist as if u were slamming ur hand down on the desk. Ovbiously don't chuck ur ipone or iPod at the ground. Now the spin go to options on main screen and choose to have ball spin. While holding the bowl button release and twist ur wrist either side to left or rifght depending on what side ur on. It's nice cuz u can play against other peeps on wifi. U can also host tournaments up to 4 people including urslef. All it takes is practice to perfect spin, but speed is as easy as I explained it
Excellent By: Garcia1508 - Nov 29, 2008 Version: 2.0 I love this!!! It's amazing. It's fun and entertaining. The controls are simple to use. I score an average 200 and my highest score was 300 :D. It would be nice if you could change the venue and make it look a bit different like in midnight bowling. Also to save the bowling ball color. I choose one color, I leave the app and if switches back to red >_<. And when I get high scores over 250 I'm not allowed to save it, it just kicks me out of the app. But overall, awesome!!! And free :P
A great iPhone experience, really fun. It's Wii Bowling on your phone! By: Piollar - Oct 6, 2009 Version: 6.1 This is really a fun app. I love the multiplayer! You can launch a online game is like ten second from starting the app!? that's so fast. There's always someone online. Really slick look and pretty good controls. It's a little easy, but that makes it fun and you can play while doing something else. I won't say i play while driving, but i won't say i don't either. :) I wish i could use the facebook challenge, but most of my facebook friends don't have iPhones. :(
Great By: Catluvr89 - Jan 27, 2009 Version: 3.0 I like this game a lot. It's well thought of, cleaver use of swinging the device, and great graphics. I just wanted to say to those who think this app is dumb, you've obviously never programmed anything. I am taking a high school level programming class, and it's tough. For those of you programmers out there or someone who's watched another person try to program, I'm sure you have respect for the creators of this game. Just realize that this kind of thing doesn't just happen. People have to work hard to make this. Great app, downloading reccomended!

just like the wii...so much fun By: UnKoWn101 - Oct 5, 2008 Version: 1.0 sgn to me make the best games and they are FREE!!! I got excited when I saw they made a new one ibowl is fun not really likeing I hve to hold the button then me go in the middle of my swing but I be they may change it in a update. all of there games are fun and addictibggame I'm just wondering if there thinkin of making a baseball one or there doing all the sports just like wiisports either way keep up the good work
Great program (just one issue) By: Hitman4Ever - Mar 9, 2009 Version: 4.0 My daughters love this game. There is only one issue for me. The previous version had the ball and pin sounds, but no spectator noise. However, the most recent update includes spectator noise as well as the original ball and pin sounds. There is no option to turn off the spectator noise. I'd like the option to turn off the SPECTATOR NOISE but keep the ball and pin sounds. How about it developers, can you help us out? Keep up the good work!
fun, Fun, FUN!!! By: Dukemann - Oct 4, 2008 Version: 1.0 iBowl is a really FUN application. iGolf is another SGN sports application which takes full advantage of the iPhone/touch's built-in accelerometers. Both applications turn your mobile device into something akin to a portable Wii FIT. Not quite as sophisticated, but just as much fun. iBowl is a lot easier (and less strenuous) than iGolf. Even someone who has never bowled before should be able to get the hang of it. iBowl is quite realistic. Bowling strikes and spares is a test of placing the ball accurately and swinging your arm straight ahead with respect to the pin(s) you're trying to hit. I'm not sure but a slight twist during your swing might influence the balls direction as in a "hook shot". This is not clarified in the instructions. Like real bowling, picking up a split is quite difficult. BTW, I like this (free) app better than certain paid bowling apps available from the App store. It is simply much more FUN!!! The only criticism I have is that the instructions should explain that you can released the "bowl" (touch screen) button AFTER you complete your swing. If you try to release DURING the swing, you may lose grip of your iPhone/touch. If this happens potential damage may occur. Thus, this game may not be suitable for small children. Also, if possible, and this is true of iGolf as well, but not compatible with all devices, it would be better if the "bowl" could be activated by a volume control button so you can keep your grip easier during a golf stroke or ball throw. I don't know if this is possible or not, but it would be a more intuitive "button" control scheme and should prevent some people from inadvertently damaging their device.
Love it (: By: Ayfay! - Jan 5, 2009 Version: 2.0 This app Is great! Me and my mom love to try to beat out eachothers high score! It's an amazing game for free. At this quality, Id imagine it would be near $3!
Do not listen to the reveiws saying they broke their iTouch/iPhone. This game can be easily played while in the car or in bed. It doesnt take but a flick to release the ball and recieve a strike. It's even easier and throws the ball in a straight path.
Pros and cons By: jazzfan47 - Nov 12, 2008 Version: 2.0 Pros:
fun to play
Quick
Addictiing
Cons:
- may slip out of your hand, but you just need to be careful.
-can't curve ball
-Mediocre graphics
Need to be able to curve the ball, and add an option to just swipe your finger across you iPod to throw the ball. People can now play in school or not risk killing thief iPhone. But when they get home or in a soft cushy place they can turn it back to normal mode. Oh, and there will be a monopoly game coming out sometime in November by EAMobile. I have been waiting also
Realism By: DatJew - Nov 11, 2008 Version: 2.0 Great game if you want bad habbits. In real bowling, if you stand at 5 or 10 and throw the ball with your thumb at 12:00 you will get left hook, opposite for lefty. But with this to get left rotation your thumb has to go to 3:00-5:00 at 5 to get a good reaction, but if you throw at 12:00 at 5 or 10 it goes right, into the gutter. So great app but only 2 stars on the fact that it is not realistic and is promoting bad habbits. Please fix. I know I gave it 5 stars, but that is because it has potential and I really like it, just wish they would correct this error and maybe read a bowling handbook. But other than that, great app and I strongly recomend it. :) and it's free LOL.

Update By: Fifteen Champ - 12-Jan-2009 Version: 3.0 I should start off by underlining that the update has dramatically improved my bowling experience. However for those of you that disagree with me there is an easy solution to get back the old version without slandering the producers:
Delete iBowl from your ipod or phone; do not sync with itunes or you will be out of luck
Once you delete the game from your ipod go into itunes and sync your ipod and you will have the old version ibowl. This will not work if you have already synced your ipod.

Very good start. By: Tiamut - Oct 3, 2008 Version: 1.0 Both the iGolf and iBowl are a great start of things to come. The iBowl game is very responsive. The sounds could use a little bit of work (like cheering for a strike etc.) And the graphics could use some fine tuning but they seem to be the beta versions that we get for free. That being said they are a HUGE step in the right direction for gameplay and from a marketing standpoint. If i like the games and there subsequent updates i would gladly pay for the final versions with all the bells and whistles. By the way i think the button you have to hold down when bowling is there to make sure you dont throw the iPhone (could be wrong though). Overall a great game. Bravo SGN.
