Good app overall, needs customizing options like color, and ability to control instant replay so you can see the shots you want to see again but can skip others, slightly smoother controls would be nice, but they're already good, overall great appAnd stop complaining about the ads people, they come up once every 5 mins and you can skip them, those ads are what allow this great app to be free for download, it's not like they slow the game down or anything

This is totally like a real air hockey table except you don't need to worry about the "puck" smacking your fingers! I think the instant replay is awesome. Honestly it doesn't take up enough time to complain about or give a lower rating. Also you can skip it. People need to learn how to read the description before they review. Also I like how you can stop the puck by touching it. I always did that. Sweet game for free

The ads probably contribute to the app being free so I don't have a problem with that. I put my iPhone on airplaine mode and it played fine so I don't know why people are complaining about not being able to play w/o wifi. READ the instructions and just maybe you'll find out how to pause the game and also that gameplay against the computer becomes more dificult if you change the size of the goal. Multiplayer over wifi is great I'd like to see more apps with that featureOverall great app and people need to pay more attention before they give low ratings. If there's a minor problem it doesn't deserve just one star. They put a lot of work into this app and they deserve constructive feedback and honest ratings.

I'm hooked. Too easy? see how long it takes to beat the computer 9-0 with your goal set to large and the computer's goal set to small. I still haven't. Tip: develop an eye for the perfect position of your paddle thingy so that when the computer serves the puck bounces instantly into its goal. Sure could've used this up at the joint. Now to stop playing while driving, or at least without a bowl of fruity pebbles in the other hand...

I just gave this a great review and wanted to shed some light on a couple things that people were complaining about: wi-fi vs. Internet play: Internet play makes no sense because the delay on this fast paced game would cripple it, you need the speed of wifi. #2 the ads: it's free! The developer needs to make money somehow to pay for the programming and for his/her time. I am THANKFUL that the cost is incurred by the advertisers, allowing it to be free for us! THANKS again for this great game!

The graphics are great and it's pretty challenging. What you do is you play as the red one and the computer (or second player if u select the option) is the blue. The goal is simple, get the puck into your opponent's goal behind them. Each time you do that get a point if you have the most points, you win! Use your finger to control your red piece. Hold it to keep your red piece on the table, and when you let go, your red piece comes off the table. Overall the game is fantastic. It's fun and the graphics look great a 60 frames per second! With two players, you can play with someone who's with you and doesn't have an iPhone. That person can play as the blue piece and play on your iPhone with you, and if your friend has an iPhone too, along with this game, u can play against each other using wi-fi! So overall I think this is an excellent game it fun it's fast and best of all... It's FREEEEEE!!!!!! So what are you waiting for, get this game NOW! Hey and if u don't like it, you can delete it.

Played this over Wi-Fi with my girlfriend and it is astoundingly good..! If you're quick, you can beat the ad by clicking start really fast at the end of a game but, for the price, if it you really want "Ad Free" then BUY the full version. It's cheaper than a bucket of CHIPS and gives you a whole lot more..!!
These guys have done a superb job of bringing a classic game to the iPod/iPhone format and deserve thanks & CONGRATULATIONS instead of "niggles"...

This app is awesome. Great way to pass the time. Just needs a way to pause the game, but I guess it would take up too much space on the screen. The update made it even better because there was less frame lag and the physics were improved. Playing against someone is even more fun than playing the already challenging computer. Great app and it's free, although I would definetly buy the full version.

for people with the ipod touch who wanna play without wifi.

there is a solution. when you open up the app it will say "network error: you need to connect to greystripe" on top of the main menu. click retry. while it is supposedly retrying or whatever, the error window will go away briefly for like 2 or three seconds before it shows up again and asks you to retry once more. in between those few seconds, click "start game" really fast. it may take a few tries, but you will eventually be brought to the air hockey table. the error window should show up again. this time when you press retry and the window briefly disappears, click the off button-or hold button, that turns your ipod off. turn it back on and play. the error shouldnt happen again while you are playing. you will have to repeat this process whenever you open up the app. hopefully this will work with you. thanks.

I love this game. I have been playing it in all of my free time. I downloaded one of the paid air hockey games and deleted it. This one is much better and it is free. I have the iPhone with edge too. My only problem is that it plays an aggrivating replay 80% of the time you score. It would be nice to have the option to take the replay off. Also... I see someone has a review saying you have to have a wifi connection to be able to play, they are wrong. They probably have on multiplayer via wifi. Don't listen to them. I would hate for you to miss this opportunity because of someone who doesn't know how to work this app.

This really is a ficlve star app, but the large "free" across the icon total ruins it. The graphics are beautifuly rendered, I've never experienced lag once while playing this game. The computer is inteligent enough to make the game fun but not make it ubeatable. And the addition of the WiFi mulitplyer was the best idea ever! On top of that it's free! But I wouldn't mind paying a dollar or so to remove that horrid free icon!

This application is really good and well worth at least downloading and trying. Many people would charge for such a great game and this one is a lot better than most of those people are just trying to get a quick penny for.Playing against the computer is great fun and although I haven't tried the Wi-fi 2 player mode I love the idea.Recommended for passing the time or for a good game without having to go down to the local arcade.

UPDATED REVIEW! Feel free to read the original review for overall impressions of the game (it follows), but the new tweaks make a great game experience better! Well worth dealing with the ads, and would be even more addictive with maybe 1 pipeorgan song as background music.Just got this game and played it for 45 minutes straight! Took me back to my arcade days (they actually had those!). The sound effects and gameplay are spot-on, and the ads weren't too intrusive (gotta have 'em in a free app, I guess). The minor quibbles I have are these - if you're going to have instant replay, make it show up more equitably (more often plays after a computer score than my score). Also, for a real hockey feel, would it KILL to have at least 1 pipe organ song in the background?Still, a most excellent game, and a manditory app. This is BETTER than a lot of the paid games.

I love this game I play it for hours on end. I love how you can change the size of the goal so that I can make the game more challenging! It would be cool if we could make the computer have different degrees of ability as well. Either way it's by far my favorite game!!!ps. To you whining babies that are complaining about the free in the icon, grow up! You're basically saying you want free apps but you don't want any of your gawking iPhone fans to see you're too cheap to buy the real app! Pffft! Get over it, it's just an app on a phone not important!

This is one of my favorite apps. It's a great time waster and I haven't gotten bored of it yet. The only thing is that the computer is way too easy. There should be skill levels not resizing the goals. And maybe a time attack mode to see how many goals you make or let go in a certain amount of time. Can't wait for the full version to come out. This is one of the best apps out there considering it's free.

I hated it the first time, it moved too fast, it was too small to handle, it just didn't work.
I tried it again, and I liked it, a lot. Now I play it whenever I have an extra minute waiting somewhere.
Some nice features: Saves your game, has multiple goal sizes for different difficulties, and can games can be set to different lengths.
The ads between games can get annoying, but it is free...
I love it :D

It's a fun, free, fast app that won't get too boring too quickly, particularly if you use settings to adjust a little bit. Two-player mode on separate phones is really neat; I just wish I could get my g/f to play me more! It's a very enjoyable way to pass a few minutes while waiting or if you're bored. You've got nothing to lose but a few minutes/hours/days of time while you enjoy playing it. Get it! Thanks to developers for releasing it for free.

This is a must have game. It's that simple. Visuals are fast and responsive and the sound effects are great and really add to the atmosphere. It is hard to believe that this is a free game - it is very well polished and playable. My only small criticism is that I personally find the replays a little distracting and would appreciate the option to turn them off. This is a great game that you'd be mad to miss out on. Get it now.

I was talking to my freinds this one time and one of them had my iPhone and he was like "dude it says on this hockey game thing that I can play online and it's just saying searching for apponent" then I was like "I think it's because it's a local thing like you have to have another person in the room with you and they can be your apponent" and he was like "that's gay there should be matchmaking or something" so I think that my freind was correct by saying that because a real person is more of a challenge than playing versus the iPhone and I like more of a challenge bcause when you play versus the iPhone you can controll it's hockey hitter thing and I always end up doing that and then I feel really bad when I win because I know I didn't really win, but you can't do that when you are playing a real person online. But other than that it is a pretty good game and I like the graphics, they are like high definition and I like it.

I have rated this as 5 stars because it is that good, the look and feel of the game are spot on as is the physics. It is as quick and manic as the real game at times and alround a well executed application. The only frustration I have with this is the control method which is as much to do with the iPod Touch interface and that is that it is easy to obscure the puck by the finger you are using to control your bat which invariably ends up with you scoring an own goal by mistake. This isn't a fault of the developer though which is why it retains its 5 star rating.
