Description:
--------------------------------------------- With Wine Cellar Pro, you can fully manage your cellar using the import/export function. You can do all the editing on your PC and import it to your iPhone so there is no need to type your 400+ bottles on your iPhone. (Pictures are not imported) The file format used is a csv (comma separated value file format, so you can use Open Office, etc) The rest of the features are the same as Wine Cellar. More screenshots in the Wine Cellar page or on the web site. --------------------------------------------- Wine Cellar is an application for the wine enthusiast. I made this application to help both the amateur and the more experienced wine enthusiast managing his/her wine bottles and also to collect information about bottles already tasted. Easy to use, easy to learn Wine Cellar is designed to be easy to use and learn. The Main screen is very similar to the iPhone's Stocks App and the detail view is very similar to the iPhone's Contacts App. This makes Wine Cellar very convenient and easy to use. With Wine Cellar, you can quickly access the list of bottles that you already own for quick reference. You can generate a separate list of your favorite bottles. You can fully search your cellar on most of the available characteristics to quickly find bottles. You can fully import and export your cellar (Except the pictures) to and from your PC/Mac. There are 2 ways to import your cellar on the iPhone: 1: By following instructions on the screen. (Wifi connexion required) or 2: Placing your cellar file on a web server and typing the internet address of the file on the iPhone's Safari. More details on web site. (Wifi or 3G connexion required) You can view your cellar in many groupings (configurable): -by name -by country of origin -by region -many other choices You can have a preview of the detailed information directly from the main screen. Wine Cellar provides you all the detailed information that you want. For each bottle you can add, remove or edit all characteristics. You can quickly add a new vintage from an existing bottle using the shortcut. Many useful characteristics can be displayed: -Name, Country, Year, Region, Winery -Possibility to add missing items when the proposed list does not have enough choices. (For instance, you can add a missing region for a country) -The proposed choices of items, when applicable are relevant to a country, a region or a wine type, making selection easier and faster to use. (For instance, when adding a bottle from USA, only regions from USA are proposed) -You can fully managed the custom items. -Thumbnail picture of the label -Full screen picture of the label -Pictures can be taken with the iPhone's camera or imported from the Photo album of the iPhone/iPod Touch -Dates (purchased and tasted) -Price paid -Personal evaluation (on a 5 stars ranking system) -Quantity in stock -Personal comments -Aromas and flavors -Maturity and End Year -UPC/Id code Wine Cellar is user friendly. You can fully configure what you want to be asked for when adding a bottle. I like only to enter the name, year and region at first, and add other details later on when it is more convenient. Vintage Chart Wine Cellar also has a Vintage Chart for quick reference. The vintage chart is very useful to help you choose bottles when buying or to indicate if the wine is too young or if it is ready to be enjoyed.

Pretty Good App By: johns680 - Oct 8, 2009 Version: 1.15 First, let me say yes this is an expensive app. The thing is I used to use the Wine Enthusiast program from Landware on my Treo. I had hundreds of wines saved on there. This program allowed me to take that .csv file and upload it to this app. The hours it would have taken me to retype all those notes and that info is worth the $11. Overall, the app provides pretty good functionality. You can search for wines, take pictures of bottles and rate wines. There is little documentation, but the seller does provide a pretty good walk through of the important stuff on his website. If it were at the $5-$6 range it would be five starts.
The best wine cellar app I've found. By: Rwor - 30-Aug-2009 Version: 1.15 I have a large cellar (1440) bottles.
The app crashed a few times while I did a stock take of my cellar but I lost only the last record. I've communicated with Simon quite a few times and the replies have been quick and helpful.
I've been trying to think what other features I might like on an iPhone and I couldn't think of anything except a non vintage flag for sparklings. The app is what you want it to be because you configure it for your needs.
I've been using it for abot 6 months and am still happy.

A Work in Progress By: paulh81230 - Apr 14, 2009 Version: 1.7 The App works fine but is somewhat clunky - the interface could do with improvement. The developer is not responsive - I sent him a question several days ago and have not even received an acknowledgement of my query, let alone a reply. This does not auger well for future improvements.
