Description:

mdINR is an electronic diary for patients on anticoagulation therapies, especially patient performing home testing of their PT/INR (Patient Self-Testing, or “PST”). This version, the first mobile application ever developed for patients on anticlotting medications, supports Coumadin (Warfarin).
Patients taking Coumadin (a trademark of Bristol-Myers Squibb Phara Company) can use the mdINR application on their iPhone or iTouch to track their daily dose of Coumadin, to schedule future home PT/INT tests and physician office visits, to auto-generate reminders on critical PT/INR test days, and to track INR test results. Furthermore, a daily notes function enables patients to record events that could affect clotting function or cause fluctuations in the PT/INR (for example, a change in diet or the sudden introduction of certain antibiotics).
Patients using mdINR on a daily basis may prevent missed or double doses and will have a detailed electronic record of their PT/INR and dosing history to share with their physician for improved clinical decision making.
Version 2, currently under production and due for release in May, 2009, will support generic Warfarin, dynamically manage diary information through the mdINR.com website, and provide physicians (with their patient’s prior permission) with access to their patient’s information with critical alerts (will support email or SMS) when PT/INR results are outside the desired therapeutic range.
mdINR is a free application. It is our sincere hope that both patients and providers will find mdINR a useful tool to maintain consistent therapeutic ranges, to provide better information for clinical decisions, and to prevent negative outcomes. We only request that you provide us with feedback to help us improve mdINR as we release future versions. Help us make a positive impact on the lives of patients on anticoagulation therapies.

This what I've been looking for  rating of mdINR

I have had my own meter at home now for over two years. Basically I would take my inr reading once a week and call it into my clinic's nurse staffed inr clinic. It works fairly well but I think I have a better idea of how my system handles the warfarin and can judge what my dosage should be. I'm going to show it to the nurses and get their input on it. I'm looking forward to future updates. Keep making it better!

Just what the doctor ordered  rating of mdINR

This app is indeed just what the doctor ordered. I am new to warfarin and INR. Being diagnosed with pulmonary emboli as an active 40 year old was not only painful but a shock to the system. This app makes recording my INR results dead easy. One request I do have is to ask if there is a way to highlight in the calendar view that there is a note entered for the day. Adding part of the note to the summary screen would top it off. Finally is there a way to backup and restore data? I can imagine over time that I will build up a lot of data that would be a real pain if I lost. Thanks again for this app

Thanks for the app, I been waiting ages for someone to make an app that I can store my INR on, I have test every week and the hospital keep my yellow book to add result then post it, which means the majority of the week i have no record and being on high dose warfarin for life i need constant record availanle, this app is great it is on my home screen. Just one tiny little thing, would be perfect if when I change my individual treatment range via the info screen, that this then be reflected on the page where I enter my patient INR result. At the moment the green area is set to 2.0-3.0 and my range is 2.5-3.5 so if I enter my test result 3.5 the slider goes out of the green area on to the yellow/red. If this bar could be in sync with the personal range. Then this app would get 100%. Other than that this is a must for all the antico patients.

Nice App with a suggestion for improvement.  rating of mdINR

This App allows the user to input whether he or she has taken their Coumadin as scheduled or missed a dose, as well as seeing when the next INR is scheduled and the results. I have been keeping track on the iPhone Calendar and adding this information in the notes. The user will have to be very proactive and input the information each day. This is a simple to use App and does the job it's intended to do. A suggestion: Instead of providing only two options for the dose ("Taken" or "Missed") please add a "Dose HELD" option. A missed dose is not the same as a dose held, since "Missed" suggests the dose was forgotten and not intentionally held. I suppose one can just input 0 mg for the day, but it is convenient to easily see when a dose was held.

Coumadin diary  rating of mdINR

I'm tracking my daily dose of Coumadin and currently performing home testing of my INR. This application is great and replaces my old paper diary. I've rarely double-dosed accidentally, if I forget whether I took my medication or not, and this MDINR application keeps me in check. I wish my patients had an applications like this when I used to practice.

INR  rating of mdINR

This is a great app for tracking coumadin dosages. One needed feature would be to show those patterns in graph form so the doctor could see trends and adjust the dose accordingly. With a mechanical valve, this is a critical factor. Ron
