Phanfare is phantastic

I have recently converted all my digital pictures to the phanfare website and absolutely love it. Photon is largely what turned me on to phanfare as it has allowed me to easily upload all my iphone pictures and videos on the go. I love being able to back up and share all my iphone pics/vids quickly and easily. So easy to use and much more streamlined then other picture sharing apps. Easy to upload large quantities of pics and vids.

Way better than the ratings suggest

I cannot understand why this excellent application gets just a very mediocre average rating. People who spent the time writing reviews put it in better light. It does an excellent job from taking a picture (iphone only); simple editing; uploading to the web; orgainizing the pictures and sharing them with families and friends (iphone and Ipod touch). It is the only application that I am aware of with all these functionalities and it works beautifully.

I downloaded Photon onto my iPod Touch, and LOVE IT! Once it was on my Touch, syncing worked like a charm over our home wi-fi network, and it is wonderful that my photos are on a portable device, and stay updated without me having to think about it! The slideshow feature is really cool too. I love being able to pull out my entire photo library just about anywhere. I recently did a huge amount of rearranging of albums, and needed some help to get the updates pushed to the Touch correctly. I contacted Phanfare support, and had suggestions in a few hours for how to resolve the problem. The update now has the ability to zoom in/out by pinching which is a nice addition.

As an advanced hobbyist photographer, I've used Phanfare for years and love the service. When they launched their iPhone app, I was thrilled! I love to show off my photos and now I have access to all of them all the time.
The app does everything it claims to. If you load this app without being a Phanfare user, you're doing it wrong! If you're expecting it to be Photoshop for the iPhone, you'll be disappointed. If you're a Phanfare user (you really should try their service!) then you'll love this app.

Phanfare is my favorite site for hosing videos(photo hosting is excellent as well). It's a classy site that gives me a lot of control over who can view what (friends/family) When I discovered the iPhone App, I was so excited. It came in handy when I was out to dinner with friends and could show them a few videos I recently shot on vacation. The iPhone application is easy to use and a fun way to have access to your videos/photos any time you want without taking up precious space on your device.

Delve into what this can do, and you'll find that it will automatically backup your photos to an online site at FULL RESOLUTION, create albums that can be private, public, or shared. Let's you do online editing of photos. Upload photos in the background while you are doing something else in the App. Will let you download photoscback to you iPhone or computer, set up albums with custom features, slideshows with music, and much more. There are also additional free programs to run on your computer to make management even easier. Used in conjunction with the web based site, and you can do some great stuff. Definitely 5 stars.

Even if you dont use Phanfare to share your photos, the Camera controls in Photon give you a self-timer, image stabilization and photo effects (including auto-levels). If you use Phanfare its even better. Upload full resolution. Check your friends albums. Import from the iPhone camera into Phanfare (and use photo effects). Email photos to friends. Awesomely well done. Now if only they would add conduits to flickr...

My daughter in Las Vegas loads the latest photo's each month of my new grand daughter. She even puts in the video's and it's a wonderful service. I tell others about this service as it's simple to use and never a problem. It's nice to see the latest photo's and my daughter can do them and put them in the month they were taken. So, it's easy to go to each month and review how fast the grand daughter is growing and to be able to compare the changes that seem to be happening so fast. My other daughter is going to have her first child also, so this service will become invaluable to our family.

I have been using the Phanfare premium photosharing/storage service for about 2 years. It is a fantastic way to share my photos with family and friends, and to make sure all my pics are safely stored. This app makes it even better--I can now access all my photos easily and safely right on my iPhone. If you are a Phanfare user, this is a must-have app. If you aren't, you should consider it if you are looking for a great way to share your photos.

Update: video works now plus lots of other goodies. For me, this app and the phanfare service is a bargan. I have access to almost 50 gigs of my photos and videos right on my iPhone. Get the app, you won't regret it! I had never heard of phanfare before I saw this app. I checked out the site and it was just what I was looking for! I wanted to have a place to upload video clips as well as full res pictures and phanfare fit the bill. I had tried smugshot, and they were to limited on the video lenght. There are 4 things I would like to see added/fixed in this app. 1. View video in app doesn't work. Works in safari on iPhone fine. 2. Ability to view pictures in slideshow format in full screen. 3. Better handling of pictures taken with camera or imported for roll (iPhone limited?) 4. Geotaging. Love the service, look forward to updates with iPhone app!

Great app for sharing pictures with your friends and family

All the work is done for you, you take a picture and it uploads wirelessly from your iPhone. Web galleries are created of your pictures so other people don't need this application to see your pictures. It's a great service and a great application and it gives me exactly what I needed. I take pictures of things throughout my day, and I never have to bother with iPhoto syncing or anything like that.

Family Album Killer App.

I have done a great deal of research on photo services, and this one is by far the best suited to family album design and sharing. It's easy to use, easy to share and most of all, now it is portable as it works v. effectively from my iPhone3G. I have been surprised by how often I whip out my phone to show friends the latest snaps of my kids and surf trips. Then I show them how easy it is to take a picture of them, standing in front of me and post it instantly to my website -- that usually prompts them to sign up. The iPhone App is just another example of Phanfare continually improves the product...

Excellent Photo Sharing App

My wife and I have absolutely loved this application. We take a decent amount of photos with our iPhone due to how convenient it is and this app allows us to share those photos with our loved ones. It is really easy to navigate the program, upload those photos to the Phanfare site, invite friends and family to our albums, and more! Even though the Phanfare site is easy to use, if we didn't have the iPhone app, our friends and family would have to wait a whole lot longer for photos of our growing family! :)

This is a really excellent application. Upload your pics straight to web for public viewing or restrict to family and friends. Upload pics from your pc or mac to phanfare site and view album on your iphone. Copy pics from your gallery straight to phanfare or from phanfare to your gallery. If this app was costing money it would be worth it. But it is FREE! Been ussing it a couple of weeks and it is stable in my experience. Highly Recomended.

Just returned from a holiday in China and kept a travel blog of locations and photos. Having settled on Phanfare after trying a few other similar apps, I was not disapointed. Being able to queue up photos, comments and locations in the iPhone was just the thing given that wifi was not commonly available. Once an Internet connection was found the photos streamed faultlessly to the Phanfare site. All in all, a reply useful addition to the iPhone.

I've used Photon before, and had to reset my whole phone. I wasn't sure if I would reload it again and decided to as I was going on a vacation and wanted to share up to the minute pictures with my friends and family. This was the only app that would do just that without much hassle. Since the vacation, I've made a slide show on my charity cause (podoconiosis), and have been able to keep my pictures organized in a permenate place, allowing me to keep minimal pictures on my phone; freeing up memory. I highly recommend this app to anyone just looking for a place to store their pictures quickly and easily, and who would like to share them with friends and family simply. It's not fancy, no bells and whistles, it does what it says and you get a lot for this app being free. I'm considering paying a yearly fee for even more features, as I take a lot of pictures.

I only wish a couple things... 1) add support for video for 3g users and this will be the only app I use. While not photo specific, it would be a great addition. 2) add support to your mac app to also post to facebook as your iPhone app can. Consistency across the board with your apps is appreciated. Since those requests aren't necessarily iPhone-specific but rather service-specific, I rate this a five star rating. I've rated probably a total of ten apps of hundreds I've bought so that should tell you something about the legitimacy of this rating. You've converted me to a premium paid user and soon to be pro user. Nice work across the board. Plugins with iPhoto and Aperture are stellar!

Phanfare is a real company with real support and cutting edge ideas on how media can be shared. I have already been using Phanfare for some time and have been very satisfied with having my photo and video library instantly accessible on the web. Now, this app makes it much more accessible. While upstairs putting my kids to bed at night, we watch videos and photos from earlier in the week, last Christmas or when they were toddlers. They love it! When viewing on my iPod Touch, I don't think about the app, it just works... the way a good app should, intuitively. The best part about Phafare is having EVERYTHING backed up while instantly available and so easy to upload and share.

Capturing and sharing photos has reached a new level of excellence!

The combination of the iPhone and Phanfare change simple picture-taking to instant picture-taking-and-sharing. I am confused by a lot of those photo sharing programs (and forget about attaching and sending pictures...too much confusion). Now I just click and send to Phanfare and everyone who I share my photos with there instantly gets the picture I just took (on Facebook too). If only the iPhone had a higher-quality camera...I could do away with all of my other photo gear.
