Description:
Want to learn your lines? This is the app for that. Rehearsal, is the professional tool for actors and other members of the production crew to organize their scripts for auditions and working on set. Battle tested in Hollywood by actors on shows like Heroes, LOST, Desperate Housewives, Psych, Gigantic and more. Free to download, and your first week's usage is free. "I love this app! Rehearsal lets me learn my lines in the car while I drive to work. It already saved my a** when I was thrown a major new dialogue scene 45 minutes before we started shooting it. I plugged the new scene into Rehearsal and I was off book by the time I got out of the make up chair." -Clark Gregg (Desperate Housewives, New Adventures of Old Christine) "I am very pleased with the results of using Rehearsal so far. It is a powerful tool in preparing for auditions, or for days of work, especially when I am pressed for time. It is easy to use and I have no doubt that as it evolves, it will be a part of my work process for a long time." -John Carroll Lynch (Shutter Island, Fargo) Rehearsal is free to download, and you get one free week of unlimited scripts. Reviews:
Absolutely AWESOME for VO By: Mia von Doom - Feb 28, 2010 Version: 1.0 I'm not an actor; I'm just a voiceover talent trudging my way through Voice123. When my VO rep sends me scripts, I can easily import them into Rehearsal, review and run the lines, record my audition and send it back in. I only have a need for text in the note feature, and it works beautifully - I can quickly make a notation about a character. Blackout isn't a mode I really need for VO, but I like having the option to hide my lines if I want to memorize them. Having had the opportunity to play around with Rehearsal in beta, I'm really excited for the app in its current state, as well as what's to come in version 1.1.
Very Helpful at any stage of your career. By: FreeLancer561 - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 I was told about this by a friend of mine who I never thought would need any help with her lines. But the truth is, we all need to find new ways of getting so familiar with material that the dialogue becomes second nature and we're confident enough to play. You can't do that if you don't know your lines. I get jobs 10 times more often if I'm off book going in. I usually read audition sides 50 times over and over until I feel that level of comfort. With this app I just get comfortable with a reading of it I like, then play it back on the loop they've created over and over again. This is the easiest way I have found to memorize dialogue. My wife likes it more than me because she doesn't have to read lines with me anymore. The most important thing for an actor to be is PREPARED and that's why this app is invaluable. Great work guys!! - Greg Grunberg (Felicity, Alias, Heroes)
like reading my mind By: heather.feather - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 The great thing about this app is that it's intuitive and specific to an actor's process. I was already doing this - reading the sides from my Iphone on the way to the audition, trying to get it down...Rehearsal has all the tools right there in one place. It's great to hear the words back (do I need more energy here, are my "r"s too soft) and all of a sudden, you know the text. I've never been one to highlight the page, but if referencing the small screen, I'm sure that will be helpful. The addition of text, audio comments, even the option to 'mark out' the portions of text not needed? Wow. This is GREAT!
Exactly what I needed By: CellistRockStar - Feb 25, 2010 Version: 1.0 This is exactly what I needed to memorize my parts. I can record other actors while we're reading so I can rehearse just my part without having somebody right there to read for me. Even better, I can record myself practicing my part and then check myself for accuracy. When I'm just getting started I can hi-light things in different colors that way lines can be one color and stage directions another. Also, I can scratch out parts of the script we might be omitting.
Tremendous App By: deancameron - Mar 4, 2010 Version: 1.0 I've often thought of the app store as a place to spend money so others can grow rich. Which is not a bad thing. Helping others make money is what we do.But the "Rehearsal" app is actually useful. The "Rehearsal" app will help *you* make money. Doing something you actually enjoy doing, too. This is not a clever visual joke to show your friends like the lighter, or a game that keeps you from realizing that you've wasted your miserable life, no, "Rehearsal" can actually assist you in chasing that carrot dangled in front of you.If you're going to waste your life trying to be in movies and t.v., this is the app to do it with. Truly. The interface is completely intuitive. The controls are laid out nicely. There is so much thought put into the creation of Rehearsal. That it's free for the first few scripts is such a nice gesture. The user gets to experiment and learn that the app is actually as wonderful and perfect as it seems to be.In twenty years, when the industry has passed you by and you're trying to figure out just what happened and you're happy to get an interview for assistant manager at the ship and pack store down the street, because they have a decent insurance plan and all you really care about is being able to take your newborn to the doctor every now and then, the one thing you will be certain of is that the Rehearsal app helped you get those gigs when you were young and beautiful or your type was what "they" were looking for.Use it. Love it. Buy it. Rock.
It is essential By: johnclynch - Feb 28, 2010 Version: 1.0 I was very lucky to be given an opportunity to use this app during a very busy time for me with many important auditions coming up. It's powerful features let me prepare in a short amount of time and become so familiar with the scenes and material that I was able to feel free going into these auditions.I got excellent feedback from all the auditions I used this app to prepare for and got offers for work from them. I will be using it for everything I work on in the future. It is just too useful and over time, I believe, will become more useful as the upgrades continue. Bravo to the designers and to apple for picking this exciting application up for the iphone and ipod touch!
AMAZING APP! By: BusyActor - Feb 28, 2010 Version: 1.0 Rehearsal is AWESOME! I have a lot of scenes and auditions to prepare during any given week and Rehearsal helps me learn pages and pages of dialogue quickly and easily. I used it to prep a workshop audition scene during a week when I had very little time to rehearse and got great feedback. I just read and listened to the scene as time permitted during the week and I found that all the "little moments" of the day really added up to quality rehearsal time!

Useful even for non-actors By: MacMost - Feb 27, 2010 Version: 1.0 I'm not an actor, but I can see using this to prepare for presentations and public speaking. I can also see community theater actors getting a lot of use out of this. As a matter of fact, I will be letting my daughter use it to prepare for her school plays.
Allows Actors To Act... By: EricBlair84 - Feb 27, 2010 Version: 1.0 Stage or screen, voiceover or commercial - if there's a script involved, Rehearsal will help you learn it to the best of your ability. This app allows an actor to concentrate on acting, and makes sure you give the best performance in The Room that you possibly can. Hell, I would have paid for it.

Helpful App! By: Bra1ny1 - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 This is a wonderful app. Great interface, easy to use, 360 rotation on phone. I can handily work on my scripts wherever I go. Great job, David!
BRILLIANT! By: Logikal00 - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 Seriously, if you're an actor and haven't tried Rehearsal yet, you are missing out on an amazingly effective tool!
Exceptional - exceeded my expectations By: BoatinginNh51 - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 This is a fantastic app. Very robust with a lot of extras that I wasn't expecting. I highly recommend it for any one with lines or dialogues to learn.
Great Actor's Tool! By: Nate Barlow - Feb 26, 2010 Version: 1.0 I only just downloaded this app and already know that I will be using it a lot when auditioning and on set. It's exactly the type of tool I've been hoping to see developed for the working actor. Very, very cool--thank you Sotto Voce!
