Description:
Finding any information in Wikipedia or dictionary is easier than finding a contact in your phone! Tap in just a few characters and you can search and find any Wikipedia topic or any English word. One more tap and you can watch videos relevant to the topic, or listen to how the word is pronounced. Wikitap is a great reference for Encyclopedia, Pronunciation, Thesaurus and more. What's more, you can actively participate by adding videos or pictures to a wikipedia topic of your interest.

Wiki with videos By: russ2511 - 07-Jul-2009 Version: 1.2 I am starting a medical course at Uni in september and have been looking for an app that will allow me to search anything very quickly. I have even downloaded other appsincluding medical apps and dictionaries. All are ok but seem to lack what this app has...and that's fantastic info with great layout but also at the bottom of your screen there are relating videos. Beleive me this is the best app over all paid apps and yes, It's free!!! Get it now you will not be disappointed...
I luv it! By: iSteve Utah - Jul 18, 2009 Version: 1.2 I'm a person who loves to look up info on a whim - watching a movie and look up cast bios; history of space travel or moon landings; presidential bios; history or historical figures and places; definitions of Benzine Rings...you name it, you can search it! I love Wiki and this app makes me love it more!!! Makes it easy to bounce between Safari and Wiki any time you want to look something up while web surfing too. I've seen some reviews that give it some knocks but where are you going to find a perfect app? I think this is a dynomite app, and being free it ROCKS!!!

Fast, rich & fast. By: Dan and a bunch of numbers - Feb 22, 2009 Version: 1.2 How is this seriously not more popular than the dog-slow Wikipanion app?? This app replaced my previously mentioned Wikipanion app & my PAINFULLY-slow Dictionaire app. Has anyone tried it? If you haven't please do so for a day and you'll appreciate how fast and responsive this one is. I love the extra features this one has over the combined other two. I love the simutaneulous definition and wiki search results. I also love the link to a YouTube video inside the app, if available. This comes at no sacrifice of speed. 5 star only because I cant give it 20.
Excellent dictionary app. By: paul411 - Feb 9, 2009 Version: 1.2 I was looking for a good dictionary app (that's free) and this one is everything I could ask for. The search function is very efficient and the entries are displayed directly from thefreedictionary.com website. The best feature is that there's a little speaker icon you can click to hear the pronunciation of the word. Exemplars are included in the entry page for sample usage. I haven't had any problems or bugs with this app. Despite not using ALL the features this app offers, I'm still 100% satisfied with it (as a dictionary).
Indispensable App. Very much worth "free!" By: The Non-Purist - Jan 22, 2009 Version: 1.2 WikiTap is one of my number-one go-to sources for randomly needed information. It's a terrific link to Wikipedia, formatting the website very legibly to the iPhone. One Really cool function of WikiTap is how, on a searched item, it links not only to the Wikipedia entry, but it also simultaneously links to Youtube videos on the same searched-out subject. This greatly reduces research time, as it effectively kills two birds with one stone. My only wished-for implementation, though I'm not sure how WikiTap's creators would pull it off, given how diminuitive the video link images are, is to somehow label the Youtube links so you could have a better idea of what the video is going to be before you play it, but this is not necessarily a serious issue because each video is always related (though not *always* super-closely) to the searched-for subject. Long story short: download this excellent research assistant. Five stars. 1-22-09.

Very useful, a great addition to any iPod. By: Bluebitman - Dec 29, 2008 Version: 1.2 This app, is a great app. Very useful, fast, and easy to use. If you don't have. A wiki app, this is the best free one you can get. I however, wouldn't pay for it if they charged for it. It being free, is what made me make by choice to pick it instead of any other app. I alsothink it is much better than payin 3 bux for the one that is done by wikipedia. This app has everything that is needed for or that would be included in the wikipedia app, for free. Overall, I am very plaesed with this app. I think you would be too.

Former Wikipanion User By: ljmjag - Nov 2, 2008 Version: 1.0 I was a long time user of Wikipanion, but after trying this app, I just deleted wikipanion for this one. I love the video aspect of this app. Needs just a couple of tweaks, like being able to access the table of contents immediately regardless of whether I am using the cache or wiki view of the article. Also, being able to access and view related to searches or topics to my current search would be useful as would be a history view of my 20 latest searches. Finally, there should be the ability to flag a video that is not related to the topic. If you could implement just a couple of these tweaks, this would easily be a 5 star app. Nice work!
Great app By: Dragginknee - Oct 3, 2009 Version: 1.2 Best wiki app out there
Makes WikiPedia easier than on your Mac! By: mixwiz - Aug 13, 2009 Version: 1.2 WikiTap makes it essier to find and read WikiPedia content than on your Mac! This is one of those great iPhone apps that proves that iPhone apps are the evolutionary perfection of widgets and the Dashboard. Love this app!
