Great App. Can't believe there is something so wonderful.
By: John "Don Don" - Sep 17, 2008
I have a lot of parties at my house, I hook my mac up to my speaker system and they constantly love to touch the computer to change the song to their liking. With this I have my phone in hand and lock my computer with my password and no one can change the song but me anymore and the best part is that I can do it anywhere, If Im out back relaxing, in my pool, anywhere. Thanks for making a great Application.
Version 1.1 - C'Mon Apple - Quit with the buggy stuff
By: Mil_Mascaras - Sep 17, 2008
I am pretty much an expert, and always figure out a fix one way or another. But I can only wonder how much frustration the average non-techy must feel with buggy application installs, etc. .. I wish I could roll back to remote 1.0. 1.1 wont play anything in playlist view without "an unknown error has occurred". Add this on top of the update bug that exists in iPhone 2.0 & 2.1 software, where the application cannot be updated 0EX00 error, etc. Seems like Apple is rushing this stuff, and I am too busy to be a Beta Tester. So here I go again doing the delete and uninstall then reinstall that I have to do everytime one of my apps get updated, with the inevitable loss of settings and customization. This is embarrassing, and I shouldnt have to be worrying about this, it should be doen automatically for me..
Wish I could update my last review

Speaker selection is available, just in a different location, less logical but still good - overall an excellent app!!!!
Sleep mode issues
By: Jowsh - Sep 17, 2008
Nice app, but if my mac is in sleep mode I can't connect. There remote should wake up the mac or pc it is connecting to.
Would've gotten five stars but.....

It does not work with Party Shuffle mode....Please have it work with Party Shuffle (so I can qeue up a song to play immediately after the one I am currently playing.) then I will give it 5 stars
Good but missing basic remote functionality for Apple TV
By: lezone - Sep 17, 2008
This is a great remote for me as I have my components in an out of the way place. The only real failing is that I can't navigate the Apple TV menus like you can with the standard IR Remote. This means you can't browse, buy or rent any movies or TV shows or movies or navigate YouTube. This seems like a tragic oversight for what could be a great full replacement for the standard remote.
Anyone know how to fix this?
By: jtguy123 - Sep 17, 2008
My friend and I seem to be having the same problems as some other people. Although I have checked the network and the firewall the remote application is still not showing up in the devices menu. This is a problem that Apple should address in an update so that the app is more functional. I have seen it work on a friends once before and it was amazing but it is not of much use if I cannot get it to that point.

I downloaded this app a couple of weeks ago. It gets most of the way through the link up process, iTunes accepts the four number code, and tells me that my phone can now control iTunes. But the phone is not able to connect to my library. I had been waiting for an update to see if the problem would go away, but it persists.

It's nice that Genius has taken iTunes by storm. Everybody loves it and greater playlist integration is always a plus however, remote speakers do not work in this version of Remote (even though it says it does). There is no longer an option under 'Settings' of which speakers to play your music through. That's a major deal breaker. For now, I'll stick with version 1.0. That's a 5-Star App for sure!

For those looking for the option to select speakers...its moved. Once you select your song to play tap on the album art and you should see Speaker option displayed.
1.0 great - 1.1 not so much
By: leeanns24 - Sep 17, 2008
It may have added the genius feature, but it killed controlling which speakers are used on AirTunes - a deal-breaker. I uninstalled and reinstalled 1.0 until it's fixed.
Some more features and this would change the world
By: Onionpalac - Sep 17, 2008
Add the ability of wireless streaming like Simplify Media and the Coverflow view plus more control of the playlists layout options like iTunes and this will rule the world.
A bit slow to load my 1 TB library but I guess that's understandable.
Thanks Apple! Keep up the awesome work!
Lowered to one star because the option to choose between speakers disappeared with the update.
BRING IT BACK!

Maybe a note about the speaker choice location would have been nice
Apple apps at their best

Great, just needs front row compatibility .
I think I should be able to enter my itunes password using the iphone
By: lawsra - Sep 17, 2008
I like that I can put in the passcode, but when it gets to the step where you have to enter you itunes password, I have to resort to the slow remote control. Please put this in an update ASAP!
Just Plain Awesome

its much faster than i expected. I love it: very useful app

Old version worked fine changing choice between computer speakers and Airport Express (Airtunes) speakers. Install the update and suddenly that whole menu choice is gone. Downgraded to the old version and control is back. This needs to be fixed.

I was disappointed at first, because I could not get my iPod Touch 2G to pare. However, since Apple released the update to Remote; I've been able to pare and play music from anywhere in my house (using my Wi-fi network)! My daughters think it's the coolest thing possible and still can't understand how I can control the music on my MacBook from downstairs. It's great; you'll love it; it adds even more value to your iPod/iPhone and you'll soon begin to wonder what you did before Apple's greatest invention!!! I love it... Now!

Works flawlessly, but why not just make it control Frontrow!!!!???
