Great app... Minor revision By: PirateComm - Oct 5, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 I have over 300gb of music on three computers. This allows me to have most of it at my fingertips. I just wish it had a slider for queing songs. If I want someone to hear a certain spotin a song, it would be great to be able to jump to it, rather than having to wait (just like iTunes allows). Overall, a great program.
love the app, hate the icon By: dublin is fun - Oct 4, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 this application is extremely sophisticated and must have taken a TON of time to implement. they've basically put a full streaming media-server on your PC, and made it work on low-bandwidth. unbelievable. and it works great. this will revolutionize what is possible on mobile platforms. simplify, two things: fix the freaking icon, and figure out how to embed this in my next car. i don't like syncing and i want my music anytime, anywhere, and especially when driving.
IMO... By: Adrianosse - Oct 4, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 Aplikacja kompletnie nieprzydatna.
Simplify Media By: BSP06XRU - Oct 3, 2008 Version: 1.2.3 Awesome app that would have got five stars if it could play my AIFF files (which is about 90% of my music files).
....Sleep. By: laorosa - Oct 3, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 This works great....but only if you keep your computer on/awake.
Please update so you can still access your music when your computer is asleep...
-Thanks
Transformed my iPhone By: nyctravis - Oct 2, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 I cant not believe that I now have access to my entire (40 gig+) library of iTunes music on my iPhone. This is truly a groundbreaking app and I use it all the time. Get it asap
free app day...please.! By: .jorge luis borges - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.1 Apple -para cuando un Free app day (all)??? no vendria mal.
WOW!!! By: bn4994 - Oct 1, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 This app is amazing!!! I agree-ignore any negative reviews. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! I now have access to 180GB of music on a 16GB device.
Simplify Media good for a free app By: Tazz13075 - Sep 29, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 I like this app but I would like it if all the songs that show up in my system under simplify media would show up on my phones library. But overall a very good program.
Just one thing...... By: killatez - Sep 28, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 This is indeed a great app lets me access all of my music from home and like previously mentioned I don't need the 16 gig phone but there are 2 drawbacks with the latter of the 2 being the worse. One is you have to leave the cpu on for this to work, and finally you can't receive any calls or texts.
Great App... but... By: RandyW - Sep 27, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 Great App but description should state in bold print that DRM music isn't streamed to the iPhone. 90% of my music was purchased from iTunes and consequently doesn't show up on the play lists. I had to dig a bit to find out why only a few of my songs were showing. After I found out why the application became useless to me.
Doesn't work By: Unseelie - Sep 27, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 Can't get it to work... not even with my phone and my iMac on the same wi-fi network.
Awesome, simply rocks By: googleandroid - Sep 27, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 The most coolest app I have ever downloaded and it's FREE. Go simplifymedia!
Great App But... By: Catarax - Sep 26, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 I love the idea, and it does work for the most part.. Not all my songs get to load, so it's kinda annoying in that regard. My main problem is that it basically fries my computer when it's connected. My CPU runs at close to 98% when I run the application. & when I use iTunes alone my CPU usage averages at around 13%. which is a huge difference. I have a new MacBook with the 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo and 4 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, it's not like my MacBook is that slow or out of date. Like I do love the application especially the concept, but I love my MacBook more. I'd hate to see my computer crash completely and lose all my songs in the process just so I could keep track of my enormous library, most of which I wouldn't even listen to on my iPhone anyways. So for now my select playlists that I choose to put on my iPhone will have to suit my needs, at least I have 16 gigs on that. I gave this application 2 stars for effort, it's just not my cup of tea..
Incredible Application By: WilliamTR - Sep 26, 2008 Version: 1.1.2 This has to be one of the best applications available on the AppStore to date. Best of all is the price! Even at the price $3.99 after the first 100,000 downloads is completed, it still is worth it! One of he best features of it is - as you build your network of friends, your access to music increases dramatically.I have tested this on Wi-Fi, Edge, and 3g all without any issues. Of course the slower the network connection is - is where you will see the difference with the buffer factor, but since I use broadband at home, and use 3g primarily on the road, I notice no lag at all.I give it 4 stars because it is incredible. This app worked flawlessly for me. The online documentation is lacking, but I haven’t had any issues other than the PC portion where it shows a yellow bar instead of green, which I couldn’t find out what that meant. I see only two things that would make this a 5 star with nothing more needed. That is the ability to play videos on your iPhone from your PC library, and the ability to possibly control what point of the song is playing. Of course, the latter is not really a big deal. Not necessarily an iPhone feature, but I would like to see is the ability to search the community to see who is also using Simplify Media to make new friends and share. It would be nice to say I have 30 friends who have this, but I do not. If I could find others with different tastes in music, I could have exposure to new kinds of music, which would be a great bonus. Perhaps another feature that would allow you to buy the song you hear off a friends media list would be nice with the push of a button, but I can see where this could be more of a problem then a feature as the iTunes music store is for Wi-Fi use.Well done Simplify Media! I thank you for your hard work and effort to produce a quality app that I know many will enjoy!
Maybe the greatest app I've downloaded !! By: JBBevan - Sep 26, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 This is REALLY a fine application. I'm visiting in Utah and my home server is in Texas and I'm listening to my (very large) collection over my iPhone, 1200 miles away, on and "E" network that sounds terrific (on full-sized speakers). The buffering time changes depending on network, but the end quality is audibly identical to the same songs in iTunes. I'm totally hooked.OK it requires patience to set up if you have a large collection. But the wait is worth it to have your stuff wherever you go.Apple restricts media apps from playing in background (except for iTunes). I think that's unreasonable since the originals streaming from the server were bought from iTunes in the first place. OK, so they don't want us sharing our iTunes with 30 other people (in background). Why not a compromise restriction that allows the primary owner to use his/her stuff in background?Looking forward to album art and some other refinements, perhaps. But if it never gets better than it is now...it's the most "out of the box" app on my iPhone. PS: Customer Service has been amazing.
Very Cool Indeed!!! By: ses83642 - Sep 26, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 Just downloaded this app tonight and having been using it on my iPod Touch via wi-fi. It streams perfectly and I have had not problems at all. It is pretty cool that it can interface w/ Winamp as well as iTunes, or scan your music straight from your hard drive. Anything that allows me to avoid iTunes as much as possible is a great thing. I had no problems or delays w/ the program accessing my songs on my hard drive, but then again I only have about 1,500 songs. I really like the lyrics option, as well. IMHO a very good app for the price (free).
Works Beautifully! By: merccat - Sep 25, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 This concept of an app like this is what pushed me over the edge to go ahead and buy an iPhone. It is simply brilliant and overall well executed. It took me about 5 minutes to get this up and running. Sound quality is great and the buffer delay is short enough to not be bothersome. I have noticed that if I leave the app music play stops, and sometimes play stops when the phone goes to standby mode. (It could be my setup). I am concerned that since this is using wireless resources, playback will be using significantly more battery than normal playback of music in the iPhone.
Great app but.. By: wouda - Sep 22, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 This is hands down one of the most useful apps for those that have alot of music. However it still has some kinks to work out. 1. Streaming doesn't work well when moving (in the Car, on a bike, jogging). You have to be stationary for it to work well..2. Still needs rewind and fast forward.Other than that and a couple app crashes, I love the concept. Hopefully it'll get better on the next update.
Amazing By: Bobertt - Sep 21, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 Fandabiedosie!
Simply amazing By: Captain Custerdome - Sep 20, 2008 Version: 1.1.1 Your whole iTunes computer library with you on your iPhone wherever you go - without using any memory except for the App itself. Need I say more? And it's free! What are you waiting for?
