Can somebody please tell me why each sound is so outrageously loud? I cannot go to sleep at all with these obnoxious noises in my ears. This app is garbage, do not buy this nonsense

Maybe ambiance set my hopes too high... When I finally (!) got this to install I was really looking forward to have 50 more sounds. Ambiance isn't perfect but it was a godsend at $1. But I was sorely disappointed. At least 65% of the sounds in asleep are bad synthesizer generated junk. I mean like the demo that comes on a $20 electronic keyboard. I kind of feel ripped off and I only payed a dollar. I mean the only possible reason to put this stuff in there is to inflate the number of sounds. How about instead you focus on getting high quality longer and more varying loops like ambiance? Most of the real sounds are low quality too, with only a few notable exceptions.

Timer feature is completely dysfunctional making the primary feature of this app impossible. Spend your money on the Ambience app - it actually works.

Freezes and locks up my phone

I never cared for the app to begin with , but now during the update it has frozen and locked up my phone. I still haven't been able to get it working properly yet. Once I do I am removing all of these worthless "background sounds" app!!!!How can Apple allow them to release an update that screws up your phone. Unexcusable.

This app turned my phone into a brick. I downloaded "Asleep" late last night. After it installed, only a flash title page would come up, and that vanished after a few seconds. I went to the app store from my phone and posted a problem with the app. It routed me to the developer's site. As I typed my info into the customer support page things started slowing down. Then I was kicked off all of the applications of the phone except Phone and Contacts. The phone will not reboot by holding down the top button. The center round button does nothing. Even when unplugged, the phone shows itself as charging. I tested, and it does receive incoming calls. I am concerned that it I plug it into the computer, I may introduce a virus into the computer, so I'm off to the Apple Store.

GET AMBIENCE!! I wish there was a STAR MINUS !!!

Okay, alot of you were asking, what's the difference between this and AMBIENCE? So was I and since I had a buck to spare, I got this after I had got AMBIENCE a couple of weeks earlier. GET AMBIENCE!!! I don't know if its still for free, it was for me but if it costs less than 5 bucks, GET IT ANYWAY. Trust me. I don't write reviews often at all, about 3 in total and I use iTunes for everything for years. In summary, everytime I use this (plug it into my speakers and turn on the timer) in about 1-10 minutes for some odd reason, the volume turns itself all the way down!! This has happened to me everytime I use it, five times (I'm a patient man). I have had no problems whatsoever with AMBIENCE. Yeah this may 'seem' nicer and offer a couple of more sounds but it is not worth the aggravation. You get the same with ambience with no problems. I think what ticks me off the most is that I paid (a dollar) for this aggravation and got AMBIENCE for free! Don't be like me, I was the guinea pig, GET AMBIENCE!

This app will mess up your iPhone big time! It freezes up upon syncing with iTunes and has, I believe, caused other problems with iPhone functionality. I've had to get rid of it, more than once. Maybe it's too big, data wise, to be compatible with the iPhone?

The soundtracks are pretty weak. I hate how I have to go into the timer every time. Why can't I just press start from the main page? Also, please fix the fade out feature. Right now it's just pathetic. It " fades out" in 2 seconds. That's worthless. I would prefer more/better sounds to help me fall asleep rather than that junk at the bottom. Thanks.

I've been looking forward to this app showing up in the store. Unfortunately I will continue to wait for another entry or an upgrade to this one.1. For the function provided, the price is about right. No complaints there.2. Did the developer even read the book on User Interface Guidelines for iPhone applications? Fortunately this app doesn't have many screens or buttons to navigate, but the ones it does use are completely "unique" to this application and don't reflect any standards as far as how apps should look so that they look like they belong on the iPhone. Why the GIGANTIC logo for the name of the program (even after showing a splash screen with the logo) and you need a magnifying glass to see how much time is left on the timer?3. There is no "white noise" sound. (This is actually the show-stopper for me).4. All the "natural" sounds (rain, wind, ocean, jungle, etc...) are littered with clinks and whistles and bird chirps and every other manor of distracting noises. I know a seagull is probably a normal thing to hear when you're at the beach, but try sleeping with one of them squawking in your ear.5. The "soothing melodies" are a joke and should just be left out.6. Having the selected sound just stop suddenly with a pop and return to the home menu when the timer runs out is also enough to jolt you from a sound sleep. Could you at least fade out the sound over a minute when the timer runs out? So... Great idea. Poor execution. Keep trying, I'm rooting for ya!AN UPDATE TO MY REVIEW ABOVE...I've read the list of new features in the latest update and it looks like the author has addressed many of the concerns I had. Good job on that. However, even though I have purchased this app I will NOT be downloading a 172MB application to my iPhone. I can't believe the author has chosen to include 23 hours of EACH SOUND rather than figuring out how to seamlessly 'loop' the various noises. I just don't think I could rest comfortably knowing the application I was listening to was using 10X more resources on my phone than all the other applications combined!I have also purchased and use Ambiance (which I bought because this app did not have white noise at the time) and have found it to be an excellent application (for me).

Surley u can make a loop last for more than 2 minutes. I have been scared to near death from ur app stopping and starting again. Has anyone really tried to sleep with this app? It will be in the my trash if things don't get an update. Ill bet the last time was over 4 months ago.
