Not ready for prime time

Great idea, needs work, and price reduction. NOT worth $1.99. The runway should rotate rather than the compass rose (or it should be an option). And as stated in other reviews the headings should be in 10 degree increments with a graphical 45 degree entry. ALL of my free apps have more functionality than this relatively expensive program. It COULD be so good. Not yet.

after downloading on i pod ver2.0.2 (5c1) when i tap on the application it opens and closes in about 2-3 secs

Great ap for practicing patterns. Low hours PPL and find it useful as a reminder. Should only increment in 10 degree steps since runways are rounded to nearest 10 degs anyway. At the moment is very fiddly to get the right angle selected. As another user suggests a direct input would be even more useful.

Like the concept for planning headings before a flight just for fun. My only issue is a runnway heading is In 10 degree increments. Dialing it to the single digit is to much. The author should purchase a training aide from sportys and see 10 degree increments would work much better; also add the approx heading for a 45 degree entry for a downwind for a left or right traffic.

Doe's what it says on the tin, a common way of describing applications these days. Useful if you are learning to fly or doing circuits on a flight simulator, experienced pilots should know these headings, my advice is to right down the headings once obtained. It is very difficult to obtain the exact runway departure heading, this is obtained by rotating the bezel until departure runway heading is reached, however in practice this is difficult as it keeps skipping off slightly. Needs a direct keypad input! Developers please note!

Obvisously this a utility that should NEVER be used while navigating in the pattern. That said, it may help some pilots that have some problems with the mental math. Use it before you take off if you have to. The resolution is a bit high. Could the programmer please make it so it reads out in 10 degree increments? There is no runway 66 or 273. Some one ask for the 45 degree entry into the pattern. The programmer has added it, but please be aware, the value is not the value on the side you are entering. That value is displayed in the opposite corner.

If you are a pilot, and need to use this, then it is time to hang up your wings.However, as a teaching tool, it is a very handy graphical training device.

The author just needs to add the 45 degree pattern entry numbers and it will be totally perfect.
