Great web service; far less useful iPhone app ! By: OrchardAdvisors - Aug 25, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I use Mint.com all the time to track all my acccounts on the web. Love it; truly an amazing expense tracking and budgeting site.My gripe with the iPhone app is that it fails to refresh with recent data, even after a basic refresh. Always about 3-4 days behind. Only if I refresh mutiple times over the course of an hour or so will it eventually catch up to current, but that is a major flaw. Second issue I have is that it does not automatically log you out when you close the app. While I understand it is more convenient to stay logged in (especially with the iPhone's inability to open multiple, simultaneous apps), it is a big security risk to have it running in perpetuity in the background. My other online account apps (Bank of America, TD Ameritrade, etc.) all close out. Or, as an alternative, have an option to stay logged in for a set time limit, like an hour or so. Then, at least if you forget to log out, you're not taking your phone to the local restaurant with all your accounts still showing.
Update By: zero debt - Aug 24, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Should promp for a pin number before each use instead of having to log out and ask for email and pass. everytime to log back in.
Quick access to balances & budgets By: Prince Duke - Aug 24, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Mint let's me track my checking, credit card, and investment balances while on the go. It's great when out shopping or figuring out if I can afford to buy dinner for friends - just hit the "refresh" button and I see my real time balances accross all my accounts. I think they support something like 8,000 banks. Awesome!
Well done By: XeosX - Aug 24, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 ...now time for the spit and polish. Great looking app, but it could be more robust.
Awesome site an OK app By: andriyk - Aug 24, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This app is lacking on all sorts of levels. Site is fantastic and is waaaay ahead of competition but this app is only OK. It does some basics and shows your balances but you cannot replace the site with this application that's for sure. !So if you don't have access to your computer mint app is only marginal.
Good app but lacking By: Poppajr11 - Aug 23, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Mint.com is such a great site, but the app only Shows your balances which would be fine if there wasn't a week delay to the balances.
99 cents?? By: chicklet1865 - Aug 23, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Now this is free?? I paid for this crap. Quicken Online is much better. Not the quicken app, but the mobile site.
Mint is mint!! By: Nelzel - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Thank you Mint, you are doing a great job! The web sight just gets better and better, I really hope the app is to follow. Keep up the good work!
Disappointed... By: Aiken23 - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I recieved a email saying that mint.com has improved. I never used the ap because I could not edit and use a budgeting tool. I check out the web site and I love it! Then I check out the ap on my phone and I can't do anything. This is a disapointment. If you could do on the ap what your able to do on the new web site it would be awesome! Also, the ap was showing purchases from last month. Nothing this month. Please help!!!
Needs some work By: PKL1404 - Aug 22, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 App would be alot more awesome if it updated instantly and had more functionality
Life changing!!! By: msaari - Aug 21, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 The ability to see all my accounts in one place & review what's happening is revolutionary. Yes, I'd like to see more functionality from the site & the app, but they're both free!!! I'd happily pay a monthly fee for a mint account that would do more & an app that would as well. But the consolidation and simplicity of the design is truly fantastic. My days of going website to website & plodding through screens & passwords just to see balances are over! One glance at my phone or browser!
Great but needs 2 things By: Imlikeyou - Aug 21, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 To update faster and the ability to assign categories from the phone.
Doesn't Look Anything Like The Website By: bslaybaugh - Aug 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 I really love the website a lot and all of it's features but this looks nothing like the website. Whoever designed this app has no clue about consistancy and branding. Please change the icon! It's killing me. As for functionality, it's good but still needs work. Hope this all gets fixed in future updates. Until then I'll stick with the website.
Good App. Updated my status to WACK By: Black Dynamite - Aug 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 No longer pulls bank data. Never any updates! I'm bout to delete it & stick with the website. However, it needs to pull your balance more often 2-3 times a day morning, noon and finally at night. I use this app like an ATM and it'd be nice if it had that feature. Pulls my TDAmeritrade acct a lot more often than bank info. Also improve accuracy. Allow user to manually enter info or provide a link that goes to mint.com for us to log in.
I <3 Mint By: deadember - Aug 20, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Love mint. It's come a long ways. My only complaint is that the iPhone app doesn't allow you to edit anything. I really wish I could categorize transactions from my phone. Would make managing my budget that much easier.
Not quite there yet. By: S. Martin - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This app has a lot of promise and if it worked correctly I would pay upwards of $20 for this app.Unfortunately, it crashes quite a bit, almost never shows up-to-date account info and today started resetting my budget information with things I never budgeted for...Please fix this app and I will be glad to purchase! But, as Mint will point out, you can't complain about something that is free.
doesn't work on 1st gen iPod Touch By: xxdesmus - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 This looks really nice and gorgeous, but why can't it be installed on the 1st generation iPod Touches? I'm sure you have an excellent reason for that choice... I'd love to hear it.
Updates please ? By: need more... - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 There has been some awesome features added to mint recently, when are they going to make it to the app?
Accounts By: Last Becker - Aug 19, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 While it works okay there are some issues regarding the showing of up to date information.
Great concept without the resources to support customers. By: Mint went sour on me. - Aug 18, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 After looking at several budget and finance apps, I decided Mint was the best for my needs. It was relatively easy to set up, although it didn't always succeed in connecting to every one of my financial institutions. It also mis-categorized our mortgage as a "large purchase," and my wife's direct deposit of her pay as a "large deposit." The worst thing about Mint, however, happened about two weeks after I started using it. It simply stopped recognizing my email address as a legitimate email address, making it impossible for me to log in. I contacted their customer support, but was given little hope that they would be able to fix the problem. And they haven't fixed it. Meanwhile, they have the account numbers and login information for all my banks and credit unions, and even if I wanted to terminate my account, I have no way of doing so. I give my lowest rating to Mint.
Great app By: JDSweet - Aug 18, 2009 Version: 1.0.1 Definitely not yet perfect, but easily the best personal finance app I've seen for the iPhone!
