FREE classics!! What more could u ask for? By: Jaykayohtoo - Jan 23, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 It may not have all the popular, new tiles, but that's because those authors ARE trying to make money... so those complaining that Twilight isn't on here for free need a reality check, stop whining, and just go to the library if you're that cheap. The voices are clear and sound pleasant and classics I have been wanting to re-read, or ones I havent yet, I can enjoy while working out or cleaning the house. It's great!! Hasn't crashed once :)
Timeless books/clear audio By: BrandiHoo - Jan 23, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 I'm impressed with the volume of content and clarity with which it's read. This is the perfect app for thrifty book lovers.
it all depends By: meden agan - Jan 22, 2010 Version: 3.0.1 A great app, but you need to get the right reader. I'm listening to "Age of Innocence" and it's excellent--a reading voice that carries the drama of the story. But I had almost dropped the app because my first audiobook was "Jeeves and Wooster"--the reader didn't just kill it, he desiccated and mummified it, reading the story like it was a list of zoological species he had no interest in, but was determined to pronounce clearly. Having read the "Jeeves and Wooster" stories several years ago, I know that they are downright hilarious, LOL'd so much that I had to stop reading it at bedtime because I kept waking my husband up. But in the audio version there wasn't even a giggle: three minutes was the most I could bear. So if your first try is ghastly, go to a different book and hope the reader cares about the vitality of the the story.(btw, the app itself works well. I know the content is from Librivox & read by volunteers, so it's actually Librivox that might do a better job of coaching the readers.)
Incredible!!! By: Tribalbunny - Jan 21, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Bad reviews cannot exist on this app. What more could you ask for? So many titles to choose, pleasant narrative voice to listen to & you get 100 free!! How awesome is that? If you have the nerve to complain, advance your search & pay for what you're looking specifically for.
Great but By: jacohart266 - Jan 21, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Nice app but I can't seem to find books such as twilight
BitterSweet By: rah711 - Jan 21, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Nice app. and how can you beat the price? The irony here is that some of these jokers that are so quick to bash someones efforts are the very people that don't need this app. Instead it would serve them better to pick up a book and actually read it themselves.
Need better ff and rew By: Kgjhfcjxhb - Jan 20, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Good app, mixed bag of readers. Some are monotone, but Adrian praetzallis (treasure island) was a stand out. My only gripe is that if you lose Internet, it goes back to beginning of section, and it's slow to fast forward (only ~25 sec increments w/ buffering inbetween). So if you need to scroll 20 min, takes about 5 min to do that w/ ~50 arrow pushes.
Great but... By: gffoodie - Jan 20, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 I love it, and the fact that the "audio" is provided all by volunteers, I got the free app, with my 3rd gen iTouch, it keeps crashing, a lot oh great authors and books to choose from, but if I can't get it to work, I will try another, thanks to those who read these out loud for us.
Meh By: Cadia95 - Jan 19, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 A lot of people are complaining about there not being a lot of new books, but if you take the time to read you will learn that if there were newer books it would either cost lots of money, or be illegal. That said, I like this app on theory. But, both times I went to use it, I ended up giving up. :( I like seeing the words while listening so I hate that I can't have this app play in the background while I go on one of my book reader apps. Add that feature and you get 5 stars from me!
Good By: Raytucker - Jan 19, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Cool app to have..
Crappy app By: Tough app judge - Jan 18, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 They all sound retarded. I actualy FELL ASLEEP! & all the books are ancient. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME
Skip this app! By: CAK90 - Jan 18, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Not much else to say. The are so monotone and boring that I start to fall asleep instantly.
Excellent selection of fine classics By: Mandy1999 - Jan 17, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 This is a good FREE app of standard classics. For all those that complain about lack of newer selections: you would have to pay for that as the publishers would want their cut, hence no Tolkien or Rowling, etc. It would be illegal if they were on here. As for the narrators, they are not professionals but suit their purposes; and as a purchaser of other audio books I can vouch that just because you pay over $20.00 for an audiobook, it does not gurantee someone fantastic. At least if you encounter someone you don't like, at least you didn't PAY to hear them. All in all, a fine app that I recommend!
At least it has some Doyle And Dickins By: scootttt1 - Jan 17, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 I can barely understand a word but they actually have some classics like the hounds of Baskerville
Thanks By: Cbubbaweryfyg - Jan 17, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 Thank you for your last "upgrade". It was nice to see an update that actually downgraded an app. All of these other companies are releasing one version of an app and constantly improving it. You folks, however, have gotten ahead of the curve by actually making your apps more crappy!!!!!! Thank you so much.
I hate it so much By: Baseboy96 - Jan 16, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 It doesn't have any current books or authors

Worthwhile By: Judithanne2591 - Jan 20, 2010 Version: 3.0.1 Take time and explore these classics. If you do, you will find a gem. I have enjoyed hearing the stories and poems from long ago. We can learn from every generation. Thank you.

Terrible reading voices! By: Ludballs - Jan 14, 2010 Version: 3.1.2 A good app in principle. I tried 2 books in the 'most popular' section. I desperately wanted to like it but whoever was doing the reading - in both cases (one a man and the other a woman) - it was a bit like listening to someone who was trying to prove they could just about read. Absolutely awful voices and without any passion - I question whether these readers even understood what they were saying. Monotone, dull, souless reading, they could have been reading a dictionary it was sooooooo bad.Best to leave this one alone.
