Destroying a great app
By: dramaqueen1979 - Jun 30, 2009
I have read your blog post but I don't really care. Nobody is happy with your app now, so you should have just let apple pull it

I love this app! I have not upgraded it, nor will I! (=

New Version Ruins App
By: I EAT BRAINS - Jun 30, 2009
Not being able to download content makes this app nearly useless. Why would you do that? This was great when I could take it in the car with me or listen where there was no wifi access. Now the places I can use this app are severely limited. REALLY LAME "UPDATE". Return the downloading feature!
By: SadSadSam - Jun 30, 2009
This was my favorite app until I 'upgraded' to the newest version. I used to listen to audio books in my car, but now I can't. Upgrading was a mistake. Do not upgrade or download unless you want to be frustrated with confinement. This app defies the portability of an iPod and confines one to a hotspot.
Change the new update
By: Egnyntnqfmgajwv - Jun 30, 2009
Don't get the new update. I can't download them and listen to them were u might not have wifi, it has to be streamed now. Why would u update it and make it worse. FIX IT RIGHT NOW OUR I WILL NEVER DOWNLOAD ANY OF YOU PRODUCTS EVER AGAIN. FIX
Was good, 5 stars; isn't, one star. I compromised.
By: A disgruntled customer - Jun 30, 2009
I understand that there might have been some big issue that made the makers of this application turn it into a wifi only app, and I could deal with that and hit the upgrade button, but only if I knew for certain it was temporary, which I do not, so I might never press the button.
I can't believe they don't charge for this
By: ReKozma - Jun 29, 2009
Read my update this app Is now with the update and totally un-useable with out wi-fi. So touch users don't get it
Wow free really? I am so very impressed with cross forward. They are my very favorite developer ever. You guys rock. I have but one request. Please please please do an update that will let you select a book by type. I.E. I love adventure books but you can't as of yet jus look at adventure books you have to know the title, Athur, or suprize me or top books just add another choose called by type anD I'll give you 10 stars. Here's 9 to get you going.
Also for everyone out there wondering no you can't read along with this one it is audio only but over 1800 books looking forward to finding pandora's box can't wait for that one. thanx again cross forward my whole family loves your work....
Well here's the thing. I don't get why they have to do this. And I wrote a very nasty mean review. I don't like what has happened but I do know as of now I can have reloaded the old ver. And it still works and let's me download books. Thankfully I always do my upgrades on my iPod and I deleted it and then reloaded it from my iTunes account then I just reloaded my. Books. Got as many as I could so that if they stop letting me download them I can still finish. If you don't want to have to stream then don't download the update. and if you did the update on your iPod or iPhone just delete it and reload it assuming you have not synced it with the update.
If the made a pro. Version and charged for it I would buy it in a heartbeat. Soooo with that said I am rating this a two star app. From what was a five star Nd reduced to a one star.
And some advice for the deverlopers don't put out one of the best apps. Ever and then on us with a disclaimer that to keep offering it you have to make it stream. How about we are forced to charge. Cuz in the end that's what's going to happen

I used to download books and listen to them at my cabin. Now I can't because we don't have wifi there. Can't you put it back the way it was?I used to love this app.
Used to be a good app...
By: GrayNoob - Jun 28, 2009
This used to be a good...no, a great app. Then the new downgrade ruined it. I only have an iPod touch, and my newfound inability to be able to listen while I'm on the road, as I drive for my work, makes this app useless.
By: Lalolag - Jun 28, 2009
This app is worthless without a download option. Don't even bother to download this version (v2.0)
By: Diajsjsosnwkanso - Jun 28, 2009
It's great but you should add in some books like A Raisin in the Sun or Founding brothers
Boo live stream!
By: Jonsej - Jun 28, 2009
Requiring live streaming has ruined the app! Please restore the app to it's previous state.
Please Go Back To Downloading!
By: Gridbooker - Jun 28, 2009
This used to be my favorite and most-used app on my iPod Touch, but changing to streaming makes it nearly useless. Listening to a book is a long activity and one can't stay on a network the entire time. The book reading stops as soon as the network is lost, when when before it would keep playing the downloaded book. I hear that Apple forced this change. Why would Apple destroy such a great app? It seems Apple intentionally crippled this free app, so that we would pay for more expensive apps that don't use public domain recordings. Shame on them! Please show Apple how this "upgrade" absolutely destroyed the reviews on this app. Force them to reconsider! I personally plan to boycott buying anymore pay apps from the app store until Apple gets lets this free app work again!
Really Poor "upgrade"
By: Doc84 - Jun 28, 2009
On the previous edition, I really enjoyed being able to listen to books when I was out of range of streaming. Now, this "upgrade" destroys the value of the app for me. What on earth would possess them to make such a decision? Put it back like it was!!!!!!! Or at least make the option available!
Don't bother, it's not the same....
By: Apple victim - Jun 27, 2009
This was one of the first applications I installed on my Ipod Touch and prior to this “upgrade”; was my absolute favorite. The ability to search and download from such a vast library of work while connected at home so I could listen offline at work or “on the road”; was fantastic and completely justified my purchase of the touch. I am utterly disappointed with this update which has made the application useless to me and probably for EVERY touch and (some) iphone users. I am now uninstalling it and will get my audiobooks through other means, but not however via the itunes app store. I refuse to be manipulated in such a blatant way by a company who would force a developer to implement a mechanism clearly meant to drive away users and force those users to get their material from their (apples) App store even when that material is free.
People be nice
By: Texter09 - Jun 27, 2009
People u need to realize that it is not the devs fault they had to change the app. Please check out the website for more info. People who already hav this app DO NOT GET THE UPDATE!

Does every chapter have to start with a Librivox ad? It really cuts into the magic of the author's work.
By: BeeMaster - Jun 27, 2009
Live streaming of the content has now crushed the utility of this app. Did anyone ever think about iPod users who travel? Go back to the original functionality and let some of these classic works "see the light of day"
By: acestor - Jun 27, 2009
Go to audiobooks support and check the "blog" to find out what happened
By: Jonniboipnoi - Jun 27, 2009
I REFUSE TO UPDATE THIS APP!! I'D BUY THE FIRST VERSION OF THIS APP RATHER THAN UPDATE TO THE CRAPPY 2nd VERSION!!
