Not useful By: Venister - Aug 30, 2009 Version: 1.1 Offline map is not bad. But it was not useful for me at all. It was absolutely useless for driving, and I couldn't search points of interest. Also it's not useful travel guide. Frankly I couldn't understand why the company made it. :$
Do not buy via iPhone!!! By: LukeinOz - 30-Jul-2009 Version: 1.1 I am currently travelling in LA and wanted a map that didn't require access to data all the time (as data charges whilst roaming in another country are highway robbery).
I found this application and paid to download it to my iPhone. Unfortunately this application will not install on your iPhone without connecting it to your computer and iTunes!!!
Nowhere on the application page does it state this requirement.
Of course by the time I get home to Sydney, Australia and connect to iTunes I will have absolutely NO USE fir a map of LA!
Absolute rip off - another case of highway robbery!

Useful and inexpensive, but no address search or driving directions By: japaget - Jun 3, 2009 Version: 1.0 The good- This app is more useful than the developer indicates.Besides avoiding international data roaming charges, itcan be probably be used by iPod Touch users when no Wi-Fiis available, and by iPhone users in those areas wherecellular reception is poor or non-existent.- Surrounding areas, such as Hollywood, the LAX Airport, andDisneyland are included, out to a distance ofapproximately 30 miles from the downtown area.- The price is very reasonable, especially when compared toa commercial dead-tree map such as the Thomas Brothers orRand-McNally guides. The not so good- The "Find Location" feature is practically useless. Thestreet list is so long that scrolling through it to findanything is virtually impossible, and streets are notidentified by city or community, so it is a matter ofguessing which is the correct one. If you decide to typein the street name, the keyboard is so slow to respondthat it will take several minutes to type in the streetname. Also, the find location feature will only findstreets, but not pinpoint the location of addresses. Thispresents a problem when the address is on a street thatis several miles long.- You can drop a marker only at your current location, soyou can't mark a location you haven't visited.- No names are shown for some of the smaller streets.- This app cannot give directions on how to get from onelocation to another.- The list of amenities (food, fuel, etc.) is woefullyincomplete, and most restaurants and gas stations are notincluded. If you type the category of the amenity in thesearch box instead of picking it from the list, the appwill usually crash.
