This app is absolutely amazinggg. I love that u can receive & send voice msg, & pictures. Thats awesomee. & i lovee savingg certain conversationnss so the fact that it lets u email the convo its def a plus. Also the push notification is greattt, landscape keyboard is really niceee. I have nothing but good things to say about this app. If you use aim/msn as much as i do. You wont regret getting the app. I actually got it when it was $16.99 & not for a second did i regret buying it. So you should really take advantage of the price $9.99, which is a very reasonable price to pay for this app. It is definitely worthh ittt!!! ;p

This is by far the best IM application, hands down. With the expanse of features and customization, no other comes close. Beejive Inc has a knack for creating incredible products. Although a bit pricey, this application can be used for the rest of the appstore's life, for you can download and install it onto any iDevice under your account name, forever, for free. It's an investment, a biet a bit more expensive than most apps, cheating you of a lunch meal, will have you launching it every time for a vital to most of us service. This stands as my most used and favorite app. I do not regret shelling out my burrito, fries, and medium soda.

This is the best IM I've used for the iPod touch. I've tries palringo, IM+, and front and I Must say this is the best I tried. Very stable, interface fits the iphone OS, the UI is perfect, and feature full. The email notifcation is the big plus. When closed, Beenive sends email notification to an email account and if it supports push, you can get real time notifcation. Do be aware that if you leave the app and the iPod goes to sleep, the wifi shuts off as well, as least for me. So you'll recieve email after you turn it back on. I'm using Mobileme email. I would love to see skype and real-time audio chats in the other chat protocols such as AIM and MSN, though currently it does allow you to send audio notes to others. It's most definitely pricey but you get what you pay for.

This is an awesome IMing app for the iPhone! The interface is sleek, easy to use and seems like it would be a built-in app that came with the phone. Also, being able to stay online after you exit the app is awesome, and makes this worth its expensive-ish price. I do wish that you could rearrange groups in the buddy list so that they aren't only displayed alphabetically (so that my "Friends" group could be placed above "Coworkers," etc). Also, the only other way this app could be significantly improved is if it could run in the background, and we could get notifications of IMs like we do with texts, but obviously this is on Apple's end and not the developer's. Hopefully Apple will include this soon!
Finally, this has nothing to do with the quality of the app, but...why a mustard yellow icon? That could definitely be better. :)

Best IM App, Well worth the £10

The £10 price tag was quite off putting at first but after being dispapointed by MobileChat I didn't want to waste money on useless apps. This us deffinatly much better. First off your buddies are shown with avatars, status, email adress, nickname and personal message. Just like on a desktop app. MobileChat and IM+ only show the nickname, so you don't always know who someone is. Stability is also very good. MobileChat and IM+ seemed to crashed every 20 minutes or so, but BeeJive is rock solid and has only crashed once so far. There are a couple of other nice features such as emailing chat logs and opening links in Safari or YouTube. One thing I did miss from Mobile chat was the ability to send pictures from the camera, and changing avatar and nickname. All these features make it well worth the money if you do lots of instant messaging on your iPhone. Just making a quick edit to ask why peole are bitching about the price drop making them "£2 out of pocket", seriously?!?! If you buy something, which later drops in price, would you go back to the store to complain, hell no!

Since getting an iPhone, i've been looking for the full functionslity of 'iChat on my iPhone'. I tried a bunch of others. Even before OS3 & push, this app was head & shoulders above what the others could achieve within the limitations of the iPhone OS2.x. Now, with push and its other improvements, Beejive is what IM on the iPhone should've always been. The reason it's a bit more expensive is that the developer knows it hammers the competition. Fair enough.

Beejive has a nice feature set, but in its latest version is very unfunctional Disconnects, Badges are not updating, Constant Spinning of the connection wheel, disconnects etc. I so hope that 3.1 is out soon! Until then I am back to AIM What is so frustrating about this situation, is that one of the reasons why I bought this app over IM+ (which has Skype and Twitter support and is cheaper) was that previous reviews highlighted the great customer support that Beejive has providing... Well... there are now over 600 reviews in the AppStore of Beejive in this version (and countless on their customer support website) and they haven't even recognized the problem, explained why this is happening and providing a timeline for the resolution. Beejive -> DO BETTER!

These days, there are so many new apps every day in the app store that not even the most diligent among us can keep up with all of them. And so it's always a temptation to worry - even of you've already got an app for a particular task, one that you're pretty happy with - whether there might be something much better at that task that you just haven't seen yet. But with Beejive, I'm here to tell you, THIS is the one. If you already have Beejive, you don't need me to tell you that. But if you're looking for a chat client, and you're wondering if the reviewers who've said that they actually gave up their desktop chat clients for Beejive are for real, well....they are. Short of MAYBE Trillian on the PC, there is literally nothing better. And this one, you can take with you. It is rock-solid in the stability department, and as customizable as any desktop chat client - more so than most, in fact. In short: just get it; you won't regret it. Beejive ROCKS!

This is hands down the best IM app available to date. Beejive has never disappointed with any of their products for the other platforms and they still have not. This blows all the other IM apps out of the water. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 has nothing to do with price but just a few minor annoyances including the black screen issue on some IMs. Overall, the application performance ABSOLUTELY justifies the price!

This app is fast. It's easy to use. Super reliable. Completely customizable. Buttttt. You need to be able to recieve pictures that people send through MMS on their phones. You should be able to recieve videos too. And be able to send songs from your library. But overall this is without a doubt the best app in the store. Forget the price. But most importantly forget text free. It's slow crashes sometimes And very Unreliable. Beejive is simply the best text app.

The best mobile IM client for the iPhone is definitely BeeJive. It supports all the major IM services and allows you to stay logged in for 24 hours after your last activity. Not only that, it also instantly alerts you of IMs via Push notifications. It supports file transfer as well - you can send a picture or voice recording to your friends!I was hesitant about purchasing BeeJive but after I saw the price drop I knew it was the time to buy.

Fix the bugs !!

Very buggy keeps crashings everytime I want to add a contact or a screenname or send an im it crashes . Fix the bugs and the crashes then it will be capable of 5 stars !! .. Was great before the update no crashes at all.. Not worth the 10 dollars right now but if the creators fix the bugs and crashes it will defintely be worth the 10 dollars so if your thinking of buying this app DONT !! Atleast not untill they fix the bugs and release an update

This app is EXCELLENT. I love it. It's probably my most used app. The only request I have that would make this app perfect is the ability to go idle on AIM, just like on computer aim.. Or a sidekick's aim. I've had buddies think I was available and on my phone simply because it said I was available, but in actuality, I wasn't on or even near my phone. The idle feature would solve this problem by letting buddies know that I'm not on aim at the moment, and also letting them know how long I've been idle for. Please include this feature in the next update!!!! THANKS.

Free is nice. But when you want a good, stable multi-client chat app with the degree of polish that sets it apart from the pack, splurge a bit on Beejive. You won't regret it.
The interface is buttery smooth and super intuitive. Switching between chats is fluid and snappy. And unlike some of the cartoony-looking third party chat apps out there the layout is clean and very Apple-like.
The only drawback is the lack of Twitter integration (which support claims is in the pipeline for as future release).

I was about to buy IM+ for 5 dollars, when they raised the price back to 10. Then I finally decided to buy Beejive instead. And boy, am I glad. A WONDERFULY made app with a great GUI. All the features work great and, so far, I have not seen one thing to complain about. Look at the reviews of IM+ and see if that could be said about their app. So, with free updates, Beejive's completely worth the 10 dollars. Don't doubt it for a second.

Beejive, with it's funky name, has become the app I use most on my iphone. It's very reliable, especially after the update, and has a very intuitive interface. Push notifications is a great addition, allowing me to never miss an IM conversation. For those complaining about the signoff's, just set the auto log off to 24 hrs in the beejive section in the iphone settings. That should be enough for most users. I would say that 10$ is appropiate, considering the vast feature set and great performance that this app has. If you need an always on chat client, this is it!

I recently reviewed this app and gave it a low score because it kept kicking me off the chat severs every 20 minutes or so. Well, that's exactly what it was supposed to do. Reading other reviews, I realized that the default session timeout is 20 minutes. You just change your logout settings to 24 hours, and you have free chat with push on your phone all day long. The app does occasionally crash on me, but it's no big deal and I'm sure it will get fixed soon. So I now wholeheartedly recommend this app. I give it 5 full stars as penance for my idiocy (plus, it deserves it.)
