Description:
The most comprehensive climbing guide on the mobile platform with more than 500 routes and boulder problems. Climbing Guide is also a quick reference to all of rock climbing's need-to-knows. From learning the newest workouts to a refresher course on knots, this guide is good for beginners and experts alike. Routes Include: • Bishop - (Buttermilks) • Joshua Tree - (Hidden Valley Campground) • Yosemite - (Snake Dike) • Rifle Mountain Park - (Wicked Cave, Sno-Cone, Wasteland, Arsenal Wall, Skull Cave and Anti-Phil Wall) • Little Cottonwood Canyon - (Secret Garden, Cabbage Patch, 5-Mile, The Gate and The Swamp) • Maple Canyon - (Box Canyon, Schoolroom and Petroglyphs) • Red Rocks - (Kraft Boulders) More Coming... All of the grades contained in the guide can be customized to any of the most popular grading systems. For example, if you are visiting from Europe and are unfamiliar with the YDS (Yosemite Decimal System), you can customize the app so all of the grades will be shown in the rating system you have selected. This can be applied to both routes and boulder problems. All of the routes have been given a rating of one to four stars. They have also been evaluated and rated with a new system that determines whether the route is better for people based on height as well as if it is more suitable for a dynamic climber or static climber. By creating a user profile, a list of routes that match users skill and preferences will be generated. Users can log the routes they have sent as well as any climbing workouts. As more workouts and routes are logged, the suggested climbs are more customized to fit the users skill level. The app also includes all of the useful features found in the Climbing Guide Lite app. See its screenshots for more information. Features: - Guides and local beta for over 500 routes and boulder problems. - Log climbing workouts and routes to view your progress. - Learn to tie the most essential knots used in rock climbing. - Convert grades from one rating system to another. A table view is also available for quick reference. - Look up over 150 frequently used climbing terms. - Log climbing workouts and routes to view your progress. - Contains a collection of power and endurance workouts you can use to become a stronger climber.

Reviews:
The future of climbing? By: dannnnnn - Oct 2, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 Sure it doesn't feel as good as a paper guidebook in your hand with rad pictures and beta, but I am really impressed. This app would be a great investment for the potential of guides that could be added. I'm interested to see how far they take this app. Not only does it already have decent guides (that are pretty accurate just not as indepth) it even has very clear instructions to tie most climbing knots, rating conversions, a list of terms, and a training log with training techinques. Again I don't like it the same as I do a book guide, but if you have an extra ten bucks - this isn't a bad way to spend it. Who knows what this will lead to in the future of climbing?
Best Climbing App available with room to grow By: catchermag - Oct 8, 2009 Version: 1.0.0 A ton of information in a simple app at a good price. Good level of detail on a whole lot of routes (that you'd actually use). The app is customizable for your climbing style and the step-by-step pictures of knots are good quality and simple to follow. I haven't used the training tool, but it's simple and well-organized. I'm giving it four stars; not perfect, but it's a really good framework to grow on. Here are some things that I'd like to see in an update: - Add new and updated routes regularly - Detect your location in relation to routes using iPhone GPS - Photos of routes (for personal reference, or from other users) - Submit climbs to be added
