Great app. You might have a number one on the app in the home screen because you have an event happening within 10 days. This is very helpful to me and I will finally know how much longer I have for tests/assignments. Really helpful and a really good app to keep you up to date. A must have for anyone with important dates. P.S. Hey guys! This is great to remember special dates like Valentines Day and your special girls' birthday. Has helped me a lot. =)

This app is a fabulous way to get excited and keep organized for vacations, birthdays, and other special occasions! I know exactly how many days I have left to help me stay on top of the things I need to get done before we leave or how much time I have left to find that perfect birthday gift! My kids totally love seeing how many days are left until we go and I love that I can customize each countdown with my own picture!

I am really surprised that this software does not have a higher overall rating. I love it! It does exactly what I wanted - shows and reminds you of upcoming events like birthdays. Easy to use and good aesthetic. It hasn't crashed on me at all, and responds quickly to commands. Things that could make it even better would be the includion of an audible alarm within a user-defined period before the event, and perhaps futher fonts and colours. But these are not urgent things are the lack of them does not stop this being a brilliant application. And for goodness sake, it is free! For the non-existent price this pretty much can't be faulted. My default Apple calendar has been relegated to the last page of my iPhone, and this has taken its place on the first. My congratulations to the developer. Keep up the good work!

What a great and useful application.
There are no instructions, so it took me about half an hour of messing about and trial and error before i figured out how to use it properly. Adding and resizing text to the size i want is now easy, although in the beginning it was a pain when your text would suddenly go large when positioning it. If it goes large ... just put a finger from each hand on the text and slowly move both fingers away to get the size that you want ... then position it ... easy.
This is an application that will ALWAYS be useful and it's free ... everything that you could want.
Ignore the negative reviews and do yourself a favour and try it ... you will be glad if you do.
I can't understand the poor reviews ... i have had this for a while now and it will be on the 1st page of my iPod touch permanently.

Nothing wrong with this app! It is top quality but you could add a bit more fonts and font coloures. Apart from that its a great app, very handy and it lets me know exactly how many days until someones birthday. Its a sweet app, even though my birthdays right at the end. What i dont get is why you put elapsed events on, cant you just start from 365 days again!? But i dont really care about that because there a long time to go, but apple when do the elapsed events come out of the elapsed events and go back to the upcoming events? What i also like is because ive got another app on my itouch called backgrounds so i can get any picture from there, even one of my favorite band, linkin park!!! If you get this app i advise you to get the backgrounds app, you can get over 56,000 pictures on it! The two appes go together well!

Minor Issues

There are a couple of very minor issues. Number 1 is that this app sometimes crashes and takes you back to the main menu which is no problem because you click on it again and everything is there. Number 2 is that it can be very slow and you have to click the icon you want to acess a few times or reboot the app which is very easy and simple. So they are all the Minor problems I have but overall the apps for the Iphone are brilliant. This review I am writing is for the Iphone 2G not the 3G. I don't know if it works on the iPod. Happy app buying and searching.

I have my exams in a few weeks and wanted to plan out increments for the revision if certain subjects. The list view idea of viewing pre-assigned events or deadlines is an excellent feature as it is in ascending order. Would be even better however if there was a feature available so that you could be able to assign the days until image and day counter as your iPhone/iPod Touch Wallpaper. Altogether a handy application which I intend to use on my iPod Touch more frequently from now on.

I love this app, at first it had several bugs but since the update there is none. This is by far the best countdown app for the price FREE! **One thing that needs to be changed, is for events that have passed to say "Days Since" instead of "Days Until" with a negative number...the number should be positive with "Days Since" in summary text.** Please correct that and it will be a 5+ star app! Thank You

Use it daily instead of calendar!

I agree with another poster, after the most recent update this is my default app for things to do that are important. Everything from my friends graduation, to work projects, to college exams due are nicely listed in this app for me. Better yet, the most recent update allows you to have 'small' view which is just a list view with the days remaining...that's my default view (I could care less about the pictures). It features the familiar round 'number' on the app button alerting you to events that will be upcomming shortly that you should be aware of. This helps eliminate going to the app daily to see what's coming up. The actual interface to add a new countdown is a tad confusing at first, but you get the drift after one or two entries and since this is free...it's not even an issue. I recommend this app to anyone who needs to remember 'things'!

Before buying my last two cell phones, I had to ask my friends if they had the "countdown" function on them, because I love being able to see how many days it is until various activities, celebrations, etc. I love the 'Days Until" app so far. The ability to add my own photo for each event has been really fun, as I love using pictures & personalizing things too. I just saw now when I came to do this review the possibility of being able to send the event as a photo to someone, which would make this even better! I don't need something with a ton of bells & whistles, but I like the basic options & personalization, and this is perfect for that! It apparently doesn't sync with the calendar, but I don't need something like that. I use the countdown completely separate from a calendar normally anyway. It's more of a fun guide to see when things will be happening, so I am completely happy!

I love this app I downloaded it for the days until Christmas and I love that you can add other dates that your looking forward too. & it's so cute that you can add your own pictures and customize your fonts and colors. I've had no problems and it works perfectly and it's so easy to use and does everything it's supposed to. Definatly the best countdown app out there! And you can't beat free people!! Thank you developers!!!

Ha this is so useful. I would've forgotten many events without it. But it can also be pretty fun if your bored I've made a "days until the world ends" and a "days until this app needs an update"that took a while(and is off by 3 years because the maximum days it can show left is 35789301) So yes I think person who made this is crazy since he made the years up to year 99999(while I'm posting it goes to 99996 but soon it will be at one day into 99997) O and one more thing this app is amazing

This is an excellent appliciation simply because it allows you to count down an important date and associate your favorite picture be associated with that event. I give it a FIVE star rating because a) I use it every day and b) it has never mal functioned.
Request: Can you have it update automatically on the iPod screen without having to enter the application. I would like to see the "days until" update automatically at midnight. A small "nit pic" and a "wish" rather than a "must".

Great app: needs 1 bug fixed though

This is an excellent app with many great features & options. The only problem I'm having is that on my home screen the app icon is not updating to reflect the number of days until my event : it is off by one day, even after I restsrted my phone several times. I only currently gave one event counting down. It is however counting down within the app itself. In not complaining, especially since it's free. Just giving the developer a chance to fix the bug. Kudos to the designer!!

This is a great app! I'd make two changes: allow users to re-size the image they decide to use on the iPhone version - my photo is a little smooshed. Also, it'd be great if the number in the circle of the app could show how many days are left without having to go into the app. Otherwise, there's not really any point in having the circle. These are minor issues that don't really affect how it works. Thanks for a great app!

This is a good and useful app, but it's so annoying when I want to look at ALL of the screen shots, but I have to press the back button and then the app automatically goes back to the top!!!! Aaargh! It's so annoying! You should add a feature that is like the "photos" app where you can swipe your finger across the screen (left and right) so that you can view all of your upcoming events WITHOUT always going back and forth... Thanks!

This app was ok. Not gunna say it was the best app ever. I would say you get what you pay for. I think that for my purposes of planning days would do better on the standard itouch calendar. It may work better foe you. Give it a try since it's free.Also it was pretty cool that you could put pictures on the dates along with spiffy (spiffy LOL) font texts. I will give this a four star since it was free and it just dident work for me as well as it probably would for other people. Hope you try it and like it. J

Sync with iCal?

A note to Mr. Shearman: I would have happily good money paid for this if it gave me the option of dropping in events from iCal. It's annoying to have to enter events in both apps.
To potential "buyers": all the problems that most of the reviewers below are complaining about have been fixed. I've had it for a few days and it's working just fine.
To the person complaining about the advertising: are you serious?!! It's free!
