Reviews:
To the review below me By: fuhq 1212121 - Jun 23, 2010 Version: 1.0 You are a moron. Nothing you said makes any sense. You spent a long time writing that message and it is complete BS. It clearly states that you must have a subscription to mobile me. I am going to make an app that prevents imbeciles from submitting a review. Yes that means you jack... This app is great for the people that are intelligent enough to read the f'ing description. If you give this app anything less than 5 stars you are one of those morons. Great app! Thanks apple!
The best app for the locate By: johninde - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 Way to go apple, I have been waiting for this!Everyone who keeps making low ratings because you CAN'T understand computer or tech stuff then stop talking and listen and learn. This app works through your mobile account to provide update to there servers then to this appAPPLE good job and keep it up. The only thing I would like to see is when you use the admin account you should be able to see all phones on the account even if there is a onetime password setup in the app then have a auto login. When you open the app it just asks for a 4 digit pin number. No username. Thanks apple!!
Tremendously useful By: Piob_mor - Jun 22, 2010 Version: 1.0 Now my family can locate each other as well as each other's iPhones!! We've been family members of MobileMe (Mac.com) since it's inception and have benefitted greatly from it's MANY offerings. This app is more icing on the cake!!Wankers whining about the MobileMe membership fee consider this...your cell plan isn't free. Without it all the other phone brands' location and notification apps would not function either. This app is for members...don't like it...jailbreak your phone and get on with your life.
Great App with MobileMe subscription By: The quick brown fox - 20-Jun-2010 Version: 1.0 I don't understand why people would rate this app poorly on the basis that it is not free. The App Store clearly states that a MobileMe subscription is required. If you don't have a MobileMe subscription and yet you downloaded the app and thought it would work, that's your mistake - and nothing to do with the quality of the app.Instead of providing misrepresentative reviews, why not check out a MobileMe subscription. It's actually pretty cool.
Honestly, people. By: One of Those Deaf-Mutes - Jun 22, 2010 Version: 1.0 Learn to read... It's only like four sentences down. On what magical planet do you live that you think someone is going to set up a giant network to help you find your phone and then give it to everyone for free? This is a "free" service for customers who actually use MobileMe. It's not that hard to understand. Also, to all the reviewers who are like "I can't use the App if I lose my phone, cuz I won't have my phone...duh!" Please... Never ever have children.Apple should really have some kind of policy in place to moderate blatant stupidity in reviews. If you think Apple is trying to make you pay $100 for MobileMe, and that the ONLY service that MobileMe gets you is being able to use this App, drive to the nearest Apple Store or AT&T, put your phone on the counter, inform them you're too stupid to own it, and just leave it there.Great, useful App, sadly ranked down because some iPhone owners have a 2nd grade education level.
You people are retards. Lol noobs. By: Nerdtalker - Jun 22, 2010 Version: 1.0 This application is what I've been saying we need all along. What are you going to do when it comes time to actually track your iDevice down? Use a laptop and a MiFi? Have you even tried that, fools that are complaining? You're all respectfully retarded. Of course it requires Mobile Me. What the heck did you expect? That theres some page or service somewhere that let's you locate any iDevice based on number? Serial? Lmao! No, morons, what you're going to do is ask a friend if you can use their iPhone, install this, log in, and track it down. Example - I'm on a family plan with my GF who has mobile me. Obviously if she lost her phone this would be infinitely useful - because it makes friggin sense. But oh wait, app store reviewers are at about a room temperature IQ. Nevermind. Go back to whining about how it costs money or something. There's clearly a conspiracy.
Find my phone By: WilliamTR - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 This app has been in the back of my head as a must have for iPhone users who subscribe to MobileMe! If you have ever tried using the web page to do this you know how hard it can be to control. For those of you who rate it down because it's not free, this service is free as part of your MobileMe subscription which really enhances your devices. It is well worth becoming a MobileMe member and have had no regrets from it at all. Thank you Apple for making this app!! Keep up the good work!
Yes you need MobileMe, so please note.... By: GaiaOliver - Jun 21, 2010 Version: 1.0 Those who actually pay for MobileMe LOVE it, and "Find Your Phone" is only one of many features you can do with the benefits of MobileMe. Of course if you don't want to pay for this service, you're not going to be able to use the app and will give it a one star rating. This is a really cool app and I can see how it can be beneficial. There are many apps available that you have to pay for an actual service in order to use them. Just because this one is associated with Apple doesn't mean that it's a rip-off. In fact, it's not even the most useful of the MoblieMe apps (iDisk will blow your mind, but only if you have an account!). It's a matter of choice, not entitlement. I suggest doing some research into what features can help you sync calendars, access documents from your computer, etc. with MobileMe, other than just find your phone. This is a great app for people who have this service, and people who don't want to have a MobileMe account won't have the benefit of this app, iDisk, or many other useful features.
So much better than squinting at Mobile Safari By: Oldglamrocker - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 I'm so glad that Apple released an app version of this. Works fast and is a lot better than trying to zoom in on Mobile Safari to log in and see where your families phone is. Honestly though, I'm dumbfounded by some people's reviews.... "what is the point of having the app if I lose my phone?" Really? The app version is to find other phones on your account. If you lose your phone, go log in on a computer and find your phone that you lost, but don't negatively rate an app because you expect everything to be handed to you on a platter.
Works great! By: Sound Speed - 13-Jul-2010 Version: 1.0 Works like a charm. Twice now I've had my phone returned to me from locating it and sending a message to it. Anyone giving in a negative review because of having to pay $100 for a MobileMe subscription clearly didn't read the app description, nor do they realise all the other features they get with the subscription, like email, syncing, iDisk and more. It's totally worth the cost and the app works really well.

FMi Saved me a few $$$ By: Papi99 - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 I'm so happy there's a dedicated app now. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I went out to dinner and when she came home she couldn't find her new iPhone. We did what everyone normally does when they lose a phone, call it. Only thing is that we didn't hear it anywhere in the house. I remembered we previously set up MobileMe on her phone so went online to Find My iPhone. It turned out the phone was nowhere near the house, it was still at the Restaurant! I sent it a message, "Help return me to my owner, call..." The manager got a hold of the phone, called me as I was on my way back to the restaurant and held it in the office. I know there's a yearly fee for Mobile Me, but you can get a $30 discount on your membership if you buy it at the same time with your iPhone, Mac or iPad. It even works for renewals. You get a lot more than just this with Mobile Me. For me personally, not having to buy a phone on an early upgrade to replace a lost one pays for mobile me for the next few years. Now Find My iPhone is faster and easier to use as a dedicated app. If someone wasn't nice enough to call back we could now follow and track the phone without a cumbersome laptop with some cellular internet data card. Totally worth it!
Great app, I've been waiting for this. By: Ap051 - Jun 21, 2010 Version: 1.0 I've been waiting for an app like this to come out. I'm already a MobileMe subscriber, and I regularly use mobile me to find one of my two phones. But now, I can find the other phone without the need for a computer. Would have come in handy when I lost my phone in Vegas and didn't have a computer near by. True, MobileMe is required, which the app description says. But since I'm already happy with MobileMe I'm happy with this app. However, it would be nice for others if MobileMe wasn't required. If you don't have MobileMe don't bother with this app. The only two features I would like to see added is an icon for the current device also on the map. And the ability to get directions from one to the other. It would help with the locating process.
Who are you guys? By: GolfPoser - 29-Jun-2010 Version: 1.0 You guys are ridiculous. This app does exactly what it advertises. Who downloads this app without being a MobileMe subscriber? Of course you need to be a member to use this app. I bet you guys were real mad about the iDisk and MobileMe Gallery apps too? Haha, ridiculous. If you're a MobileMe subscriber, you're probably not even reading the reviews because you've used this on me.com and know you need the app. If you're not a MobileMe subscriber, read app descriptions before you download. It's not like Apple is trying to fool you here - it clearly states that a MobileMe subscription is required, so why are you here? Members Only!
Outstanding and superhandy By: sarel - 27-Jun-2010 Version: 1.0 I agree with Mr Potatohead that some people don't get what this app is for. Before this app you could only remote wipe your lost phone from a laptop/desktop. And to the genius who reviewed this as stupid because it's an app on your phone to find your lost phone I can only shake my head. Also notice there's really only people giving it one (and a two) stars and five stars. Some people are really challenged.
Great app By: Mr.Potato Head - 25-Jun-2010 Version: 1.0 I think some people didn't understand what this app is all about. When your entire family is connected with iPhones and iPad.. you can track them out easily. If you lost one of your phone or iPad, you can track it own from another device in your "network".It really is a cool app. And for those who complain about Mobile Me... come on... that things is a MUST if you have multiple computers and phones and iPads and stuff that you want to keep in sync. It's also a good place to have a separate inbox, backup pictures and other stuff like that... TOTALLY worth 100$ a year.
Finally a super easy way to use mobile me "find my phone" By: akadragon - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 This App makes it easy to use the best of mobile me's features. This is a must have App for mobile me users. Apple can improve this App by allowing multiple user names. As of now you can log in and find your phone, but it would be nice to save or have your other family members phones in the App. This would allow you to open the App and click on a family members name to locate their phone without entering all their info each time.
Great app, good job Apple. By: Firewolf34 - Jun 20, 2010 Version: 1.0 This is an app many people have been waiting for, and only Apple has it right now. MobileMe is a great service, it has many other features than just this. If you are thinking that you are paying 100$ just for the app, you are wrong. It says right in the description that you need a MobileMe subscription. All you little kids with your little Emoji icons should stop bitc*ing. If you have ever used a Mac in your life you would understand the superiority of Apple and the MobileMe service over other computers. This app wouldn't even work without MobileMe because it would not be possible to connect the two devices and see where they are all over the world without a huge security problem. Would you like it if some random stranger knew where you were at all times and could wipe your data whenever he/she wanted? So do us all a favor: 1. Don't download unless you have MobileMe. 2. Don't rate the app unless you have MobileMe.3. Stop complaining. The app really is great. I just wish all the retards who review this app with 1 star would realize they are supposed to rate the app on how well it matches the description and how well it performs, not on cost. Many of them didn't even read the page that explains the wonderful functionality of MobileMe's cloud computing, just ran back to the app store to write something like "too mch muneyz $$$ bad app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!". So if you are downloading this app or are going to write a review, think before you say something incredibly stupid. Thank you.
Does exactly what it says and does it nicely. By: more more more capsule!! - Jun 20, 2010 Version: 1.0 First, before you download, make sure you have a MobileMe account. If you don't, then either get one (highly recommended), or don't bother with the download. This is explicitly stated in the description. If you only have ONE iOS device, again, don't bother. I have and iPod touch and my mother has an iPhone 3GS, both configured to use Find my iPhone on my MobileMe account, therefore it's worth it for me. If you have one iOS device that is lost, go to me.com… THAT is how you find it, then. These things confirmed…Once you use the app, it is quite good. It found both my iPod (which I'm on) and my mom's iPhone, precise to the house. Very nice.
Simple, accurate - terrific By: Proprietor - Jun 18, 2010 Version: 1.0 Bravo, Apple! Thank you for finally bringing the super-useful Find My iPhone/iPad feature to the devices themselves in convenient app form. The iPad version is stellar and works extremely well - much better than the Web-based interface did. Finding devices took less than a minute and was very accurate. Sending messages to my iPhone was easy, and they were delivered rapidly. Having buttons to toggle between map, satellite and hybrid views makes for slick, simple switching. My only suggestion would be the ability to display the locations of multiple devices on the map at the same time. It's easy to switch between devices, but an "all" option would be helpful and appreciated. Overall, well-done!
Others Misrepresent The Price By: aikidavid - Jun 20, 2010 Version: 1.0 Several reviews here Very Ignorantly say no thanks to this app, as it costs $100. These allegations are totally BS, unfounded etc. This is free if you have a MobileMe account. You Should have a MobleMe account anyway, as that's where you get your mail, store stuff securely online, and exchange your Safari bookmarks between several computers etc. etc. If you don't have MobileMe your are missing out on a lot of other services which are what you are Really paying for, not for this app. Before you review this, first look into all the benefits of a MobileMe account, before making absurd statement as if you're paying all that money for only one very minor (extra!) benefit you are getting from that account. Aside from that, great app, just stop all the one star ratings by people who are obviously ignorant about what they are paying for!
