Description:
Memory Status provides the following functions: ----------------------------------------------- 1. Memory Status ("Memory") screen 2. Running User Processes ("Processes") screen 3. Cleaning Memory ("Cleaning") screen ----------------------------------------------- 1. Memory Status ("Memory") screen - Displays the status of your iPhone's (or iPod Touch's) RAM memory usage condition. The four conditions are: Wired, Active, Inactive and Free. Information is provided in the following formats: Pie chart, percentage used and physical size in MB. - "i" button provide explanations of the four memory conditions. - Reload button will refresh the status displays. - Pie chart's background color will change based on available free and inactive memory state." 2. Running User Processes ("Processes") screen - Displays the list of running applications and processes. Main applications are shown with their icons." 3. Cleaning Memory ("Cleaning") screen - Displays the current core applications running (typically in the background) and provides the option to "terminate" and recover memory in use by them. - The cleaning process may take 10 to 30 seconds. - On rare occasions, Memory Status application may itself terminate during this process. However, the system will not suffer from this event and memory cleaning should be completed." Cleaning button: Level1 versus Level2 The cleaning process terminates core applications (operating in the background) and reclaims memory in use by them. Level1 cleaning terminates Safari and reclaims memory in use. Level2 cleaning terminates Safari, Mail and iPod and reclaims memory in use. CAUTION: It is not recommended to start the cleaning process while you are listening to music due to the amount of CPU load necessary for the cleaning. TIP: If the free memory condition does not improve even after the cleaning process, start and close Safari once and re-run the cleaning." English translation provided by M.Hasegawa/KCG.

Reviews:
Have been great for me By: reidawg - Apr 3, 2009 Version: 2.0 I have been very impressed with this app since purchase back in 12/08. I've done some more browsing for apps that fit in this category and was surprised at much more I like this app than the others. I want to get the most memory free as is possible. this program, unlike others, allows me to do that. i don't care for the "free up 20" of Memory Info 1.4. I own both and prefer Memory Status. I am uncertain of what will become of this app, however, once 3.0 hits.
Outstanding results By: Oioioioioioioioioio - Mar 22, 2009 Version: 2.0 Other apps that free runtime memory free like 35 MBs, I usually get about 50 MBs free. This let's me do almost anything without crashing or having to turn my phone off like 3 times everyday. If in the next update you could try to make the system more stable so when you are cleaning it doesn't crash. I don't really care about the crashing part because other than that it gets it's job done! But that would still be nice if you could make it crash less.If you surf safari a lot, use e-mail a lot, listen to your I-pod a lot, or waste time with apps then you need to get this. Best dollar I've spent
MUST-HAVE APP!!! By: BrentL MO - Mar 15, 2009 Version: 2.0 I've never felt compelled to write a review until now. This app does exactly what it says it will, but it can also fix glitches with your phone!I was trying to update one of my other apps, so it said "loading." But it never actually started, as the progress bar never appeared. It was stuck in limbo...you couldn't run it, delete it, or update it. If you went back to the app store, it thought the new version was already installed. Even doing a hard reset had no effect on it, it was still stuck!!So then I ran Memory Status and did a 2nd level cleaning. As soon as it finished, the app update loaded and installed properly!! The best $.99 I've ever spent for my iPhone!!!
Best Memory App By: b20civic - Feb 26, 2009 Version: 2.0 I like this the best out of all of them available at this time. I am not sure how necessary this application is for the iphone. If you make sure and hold the home button when exiting Safari browser or Ipod for 8 seconds or so you really dont have any memory issues ever whee you would need this. But it is nice to have a pie chart of the different types and usage of memory. Processes screen does nothing for me personally. Cleaning works as it should and really frees up A LOT of memory. I use this maybe 1-2 times a week. Thanks for a nice app. PLEASE ADD a Battery Level % Indicator so I can delete 'the other memory app' from my iphone. Hint Hint.
This app is good. By: iLimPhone - 08-Jun-2009 Version: 2.0 This week, I purchases these applications as like "Task Manager" on Windows Mobile 5.0 (I already own my previous mobile - but won't sell to anyone).
Other applications are doing good as well as closing applications down. This Memory Status have great most of applications (include this application) will closing down EXCEPT system processes, which running on OS as good of new fresh memory like when you switch your iPhone or iPod Touch on.
After this application closed itself down, and I looked at other application showed the free memory seems highly than other applications closing processes down!
That's why I give 5 stars as good, because it have GUI friendly and very clear to understand the detail!!
Absolutely Brilliant! By: Subnet1 - 26-May-2009 Version: 2.0 This app is fantastic. It clearly displays how much memory is in use and how much is free and shows you which apps are running in the background and ends them for you freeing up loads of memory. The GUI looks really nice and is a really simple app to use. The other bad reviews for this app are simply people misunderstanding the purpose of this app. This app cleans the RAM. It does not free up space on the iPhone/iPod "hard drive". The reason for this is to prevent apps crashing. For example you may notice somethimes apps randomly close; this is because you do not have enough free memory left. In the past the only cure was to turn the iPhone/iPod off and on. This app provides an easier and faster alternative.
Thank you for the great app
MemoryBank By: Lavaman22 - Jan 25, 2009 Version: 2.0 Great app. I have this as well as "free memory" and both are legit programs. However this one seems to actually identify what it is actually cleaning. Great idea with the pie chart. However. I am a little confused with the notification of "main processes are not running" - I don't know what that means. But, it shows that picture in the preview of the app so I think things are fine. Great job app creators! Looking for some updates. Like the app. 5/5!!
Has potenial. UPDATED DEC. 13, 2008 By: Typical Nerd - 13-Dec-2008 Version: 2.0 Since this is the only app. available for the iphone that can give some idea of memory usage, one is left with no option but to use it. I really have problems with my iPhone's memory and frequent crashes ,hence I need an app. to let me figure out where my memory is going to. This app. gives some idea albeit, an incomplete picture. Also, you cannot stop a memory process to gain more memory for other tasks. My only hope is the developer will issue an update that will give a more detailed picture of memory usage and allow one to kill un-necessary apps from running. The app. Itself appears to have a small memory footprint which is great. Please update this application and you will have a winner!!! Average Nerd
Follow-up 13-December 2008
This app. has now been updated. In a word: BRILLIANT. You can now see available memory in megabytes and more importantly, you can now FREE up used memory after using the big memory hogs/kernel dumps used by big iPhone programs such as Safari, Ipod, Maps and so on. It beats a soft reset anytime. After ' cleaning memory '
I noticed a distinct improvement in iPhone program performance. Web pages loaded faster, U tube video played quicker and my Wi-Fi down and upload speeds improved as determined by another very neat and free App. Speed Test. MEMORY STATUS is worth every cent to control gizmo freaks like yours truly .

Great By: iphone3Gballer - Jan 15, 2009 Version: 2.0 It really shows you when you need to free up ram. FYI apple apps like safari, mail, and iPod run in the background. When you hit the home button in safari, safari is still taking up memory. You need to force quit it by holding the home button down for about 8 seconds and when it exits you can let go.Upadte: The update is fantastic first of it's kind. No other app does this. This is a tool that should of been included. I had 5% memory pressed clean up memory and I now had 40%!!!!Update 2 this app is still amazingIt is way better than free memory!!
Wow.. By: iRoCk21DER - Feb 16, 2009 Version: 2.0 Freed up 46mb of memory after first cleaning! 2x more than "free memory."
To all the goofs that say "main processes not running" is an error, it's not. THAT'S WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO DO! It stops all the main processes, therefore clearing up memory space! If however u believe this is STILL an error, open a main process, i.e iPod, email, or phone, then re-open this app and ur processes should pop up.
Every iPhone user needs this By: Iloveelvisyesido&helovesmetoo - Nov 10, 2008 Version: 1.1 I use this everyday & the upgrade is even better. Whom ever made this is very smart & knows computers well. It it simple, clean & easy to use & now I reboot my phone everytime I'm using it for any reason for a long time just to look at the chart to see how much free space I have left. Every iphone user needs this application to see how much memory is being used & which apps are using the space. It is said you should reboot your cell after every app is dowloaded so there are no glitches/ crashes. I could not wait to give you a review to tell you thanks-Karen- you may quote me if you like!!!AND U RENAMED THE DAMN THING!!!
