Great App! Does what App description says!! By: M47dq - Aug 2, 2009 Version: 1.2 This app is simple and effective. It let's you know how much daylight you have left...which is useful if you are like me and want to beat the heat and wait to do outside choirs right before the sun goes down!! It also tells you what phase the moon is in, useful when you think the moon is shaped like a football and know darn well that just can't be! I like that it has the location finder, fun to see the light change in comparison!
Great ap. One suggestion. By: PeeperKeeper - Apr 12, 2009 Version: 1.2 This ap does exactly what it says and I really love it. It really helps to plan workouts/runs/bike rides. However I do wish it also tracked moonrise and moonset for those evenings by a campfire. Personally I could do without the astrology, but that's just me.
One of my favorite features is the icon. That was the deciding factor between getting this one and the other sunrise/sunset tracker I was looking at.
Don't let the sun go down on me By: Preacherdoc - 15-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0 I love apps like this one, which give you little niblets of scientific data which you can check whenever you like. SunMap does just that: the upper part of the screen is a calculated Mercator projection of the surface of the Earth, with light and shadow displayed on it in realtime. SunMap determines your position with GPS and then calculates the time of sunrise and sunset wherever you are, as well as giving a little countdown to how long it is until the next sunset (or sunrise). The lower third of the screen gives a few morsels of data about the phase of the moon. Why not five stars? Well, the best bit, of course, is that lovely map. I want to be able to turn my iPhone onto its side and have that map fill the widescreen view. I then want to be able to speed up the calculation so that I can watch the shadow move round the Earth, or enter any date and time I choose (summer vs winter). I also want a spherical view of the Earth which I can observe in realtime. As it is, the screen simply sits there, and there is no way to interact whatever: no buttons, no sliders, no gizmos of any kind. I suspect the map probably does update in realtime, but this happens so slowly that after a minute or two there is nothing more to look at. SunMap is a really nice piece of mind candy, but unfortunately it fails to exploit the innate (and obvious) strengths of the iPhone as a platform.
Great App! By: -=LLAMA=- - Jan 31, 2009 Version: 1.1 I love the countdown until sunset feature. I know exactly how much daylight I have left in the day! I also like the moon image it's exactly what I see in the sky.
The Perfect App By: Soupist - Jan 21, 2009 Version: 1.0 I love how simple this app is. It tells me how long until sunset/sunrise to the second. While traveling, it's great to know how much sun is left before dark when I arrive in different time zones. It works great on my touch. Great app!
Woot By: vivithemage - Jan 13, 2009 Version: 1.0 Simple and useful. The picture is exactly what you see. I love the little map showing sun/night coverage much better then those other apps.
Great app By: world view - 19-Apr-2009 Version: 1.2 I love this map so much. It's really simple and beautiful. Hooray!
Does what they say it does By: JordieGTP - 8-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0 Nothing special here, but it gives accurate info. And used your location to determin time zone, sun rise and dune set

Nice App but... By: May123 - Mar 23, 2009 Version: 1.2 I would like to be able to change the altitude from meters to feet. Add this and it would be a 5 star app.

Please fix one detail to make it perfect :) By: longhair_hippy - 27-Mar-2009 Version: 1.2 Hello, This app would be great, if the map would be availiable even when not hooked on wi-fi. Basically, use the last coordinates from last geosync (GPS or Skyhook). Thank you very much. Georges in Montreal.
Seems fine By: Andrew Maloney - 14-Jan-2009 Version: 1.0 I downloaded Sun Map 2 days ago and it works well on my iPhone.
It's getting better. Locating the user is a plus. One more star! By: Just another Canadian - 26-Feb-2009 Version: 1.2 This app is OK to a free app, but it could learn from it's competitors and become a valuable paid app. The free "Sunlight" app a scrolls the edge of night across the globe. It also allows user to plot any city, so you can easily see it's relationship to the approaching day/night. This app just has a static picture of the edge of night (just a waste of screen space, IMHO). Same comments about the lunar info (see iEphemeris for an idea about moon info). Good idea, but too much filler and not enough content.
Just get Planets By: Coocachew - Jul 18, 2009 Version: 1.2 Just get Planets. This is not even half what Planets does. Planets shows shadow and daylight, every planet on great 3-D detail, when planets are visible, what constellations are out, etc. This is... nothing.
Location By: Sullyjsj - Apr 18, 2009 Version: 1.2 We need a way to set location manually. If wifi is out the app does not give much info.
Nice app By: martino13 - Jan 22, 2009 Version: 1.0 Handy little app that provides useful info in one simple screen.
Does NOT show Altitude in Feet By: Interface Wiz - Aug 31, 2009 Version: 1.2 Does NOT show Altitude in Feet. Fix this Bug and more will buy it. All / Most other similar programs do this.
Can't change location By: Herb9199 - May 9, 2009 Version: 1.2 I am 700 miles from original location. I am using iPod touch on DSL. Unable to switch location making this app pretty useless until I return to original location in the fall.
