BEST APP EVER!
By: MarvolousMackenzie - Dec 28, 2008
This is my favorite app. The yahoo weather that comes with the ipod is not accurate and always leads me astray. But then i got The Weather Channel and i was so satisfied. I have told everyone i know to get this app it is efficent and useful yet easy to handle. You can get weather for wherever you are and you never have to worry. I always pick out my outfit the night before (since i have such a hard time waking up in the morning) and this app helps sooo much!! It goes in so much detail i never have to worry about the weather
First choice for weather
By: Merrygold - Apr 14, 2009
I prefer it over the weather app that came with the iPhone. I live in a small town, and this app lets me store all the surrounding towns in my favorites list. I can watch live radar that zooms in or out as much as I need with a simple pinch, check hourly, 36 hour, and 10 day forecasts. Recently it allowed me to pinpoint the safest route home from the city where I work, across two other towns, during a severe hailstorm.
I highly recommend it. This one has never let me down.
If you want the old version back...

If you're running time machine, go back to a period when 1.0.1 would be backed up. On OS X, the file will be located under Music>iTunes>Mobile Applications>TWC 1.0.1.ipa. Make sure you delete 2.0 from the current directory and replace it with a restored 1.0.1. Now, in iTunes click Applications and then find The Weather Channel Application. Double click it, so iTunes will realize it is missing. Point to the new 1.0.1. On your iPhone or iPod Touch, uninstall your current 2.0. Connect your device, sync 1.0.1, and voila.
Great app but not perfect
By: Anonymous41909 - Nov 12, 2008
The screen is too busy. Itwould be great if things could be simplified a bit. Also the icon is kinda of ugly on my phone. Seriously TWC could really do better, with an icon image or at least fill the whole square blue.
Ok I'm already updating my review to 5 stars because I just saw the local video. I love it and it highlights just how great and advanced this phone is. I still suggest the two things above, but for the screen, maybe just hide the location bar.
So much better...

...than just the temp and forecast. I can keep track of weather alerts and see radar images for multiple locations. I know what kind of storm is coming and how big! I can see what the weather is like where my friends/family are and be aware of bad weather in thier area. It's great to keep track of vacation destinations weather too!
I would have bought this app! Absolutely download it. It's never crashed on me and is always suprisingly fast.

The person who said the app couldn't find New York is an idiot. I just looked it up, 82 and partly sunny right now, and I live in Cali. This app is great and totally useful wherever I have gone. There is one never changing add I have learned to look past and another that occasionally pops up. Some of the satilite stuff is behind, but unless a crazy storm is headed your way, who cares. That's what the weather warnings are for. I love the 10 day forecasts and anyone one who thinks any weather predisction from anyone is 100% acutate is on crack. When have the weather people ever been right? Honestly people!

lisen i have another app from a different company (which i will not say the name) because it says where it gets it data from, and it takes the data (weather forcast) from my school so
•write where the data forcasts are coming from
••~Fantastic update it leaves weatherbug in the dust!!! weather chanel has everything weatherbug has but more!!!!••~
well i took my time 2 write this honest review, so please take some of ur time 2 fix only that one thing!
Sun shines on TWC again...
By: Danarchi - Aug 18, 2009
Whew! The skies cleared quickly for that TWC connection fluke. And it helped remind me how much I rely on it in planning the week. In addition, not knowing how long TWC would be down, I promptly revisited other weather apps only to realize how much I prefer TWC! ...and it's FREE! I may even go for the 4-buck version now, in part to loose the ads, show support, & perhaps even dig that futurecast jive 8D
Instant Weather - Great App
By: SteveinGA - Jul 30, 2009
So how do you need to dress for the day? Just press the TWC icon and you'll know in 2 or 3 seconds. Enter your zip code once and the app automatically takes you there every time you sign on. Out of town and need to know the weather but are unsure of the local zip code or town name? iPhone's locator feature works in conjunction with TWC's map. There is an upgraded version with more features, but for my uses, this is THE perfect app for me. I've been a fan of TWC for a long time now, as they always excel in all they do. This app only fortifies my opinion that they are a great company who takes pride in what they do. p.s. Moving radar on a free app? Oh yeah-they have that, too.
Won't travel without it!

I have used this for several months now (and for several cross country road trips) and have come to rely on it. Being able to track weather where we are and where we are going has enabled us to avoid some rather nasty weather (we kept ahead of a blizzard thanks to having the info available). The updates have helped tremendously when wanting to manage different towns, as it used to be rather difficult. If you want a reliable weather app, this is the one to get.
Works like a dream 4 me!

Everyone complaining should lose the privalage to use this app!! It's free and has worked wonderfully for me for months. I'm only leaving a review because I happened across all the awful negitive remarks and figured somebody should say something positive!! Thanks devs, ur hard work is much appreciated! Keep up the good wrk!
P.S. To the idiots complaining about the banner adds: News flash!!! The Weather Channel Max (u know, the thing that those banners advertise for!) is available to u in the PAID section (the tab back from the free section, the page u had to clink to open this section on...think u can find it?) so stop ur bitchin' and shell out the cash, or don't factor the adds into ur review!!! And I don't even wanna think about the pettiness of the ppl complaining about the name under the icon saying standard. Ur beneath addressing!!

This was a great app . . . until yesterday when I updated this. I am giving it two stars because I am optmistic that whatever The Weather Channel did to mess this up, they will be equally quick in correcting the current problems. If not, I will remove a star -- or the app.
Revising the above: The app is back to it's Five-Star status. Sorry to hear you had Server problems, but YOU'RE BACK! Thank goodness.
Wow! I'm speechless!
By: Greg427 - Dec 9, 2009
The Weather Channel has now gone above and beyond the limit by hearing our views on Version 2.0 AND ACTUALLY USING THEM IN 2.0! With bigger, moving graphics and traffic cams (in certain markets), throw in a newspaper and there's no need to turn on the TV! Thanks for making my weather experience better!I give it a:5 Star for Customer Service Accessibility Accuracy BUT, I have 1 problem: The Radar and Current forcasts need to be updated more than once every 90 min. Other than that, great job. It's what I didn't expect that made me happier.
By: Brian86 - Dec 22, 2008
This gives very comprehensive information for a mobile device. The video option is also extremely helpful. Itgives the weather report broadcast for you current area. As soon as you open the appplication, it finds where you are and give the weather, cloud cover, radar, forcast, tempeture, UV Index, and what the it feels like. I would recommend anyone she depends on weather forcasts for travel and work to get this. You won't have to search or a television or computer anymore or use the standard iPhone weather app which can be unreliable at times.
Excellent App! Extended forcast! Better than others!
By: I Like Muffins - Jan 10, 2009
This is an excellent app to have for the user friendly UI, no ads, and extended forcast. I had tried others that don't provide nearly as extensive forcasts. I like the hour-by-hour feature as well as the extended 10 day. They have added weather radar, but I also like to use iWeathr.com's NOAA radar app. It is also free and if you like iWeather you can add it as a bookmark through Safari and choose "add to home screen" which will make a nice icon for one click access vs. clicking through Safari's bookmarks.
I love the "add to home screen" function which I use for many of my other favorite Safari bookmarks as well.

Excellent App , & @ top of my most frequently used Apps. One month of use, & no issues. Current, Hourly, 3 day, & 10 day provide the forecasts I need. Weather map works great with touch / drag zoom & move capabilities.
User interface is quick & easy for changing screens, using gps for current current location forecast, & selecting other locations. Definitely a 5 star app.
Add another star for free. Thanks to app developer, Apple, & AT&T for the right stuff!
Quick and detailed weather
By: mjwitters - May 13, 2009
I was looking for a new weather app because the website bookmark I was using took too long to load, even over wifi. I was amazed to see how fast this one loads the UI and data. I am also impressed with the feature list, including multiple saved locations, hourly forecasts, and video of my local forecast (which also loads quickly). I can't say if its the best weather app, because I haven't used them all. But I can say I won't be trying any of the others because I have found the one I want!
This replaced iPhone's weather & Weatherbug
By: apakhlev - Jan 9, 2009
I'm not a professional weather person, nor do I pretend to be. I don't care how clowds traveled and what caused it to snow/rain/heat wave. I just want to know what the weather is going to be like the rest of the day to better prepare myself regardless where I'm at. This program has the current conditions: winds, weather, humidity, UV, visibility, and what it feels like (this is most important to me, because it could be 80F but if it feels like 20 then better dress warm). Besides Current condition, it also has hourly, 36 hour, and 10 day forecasts. That's just for the weather for all the cities I selected. For those weather savy people, which I'm not, there is a weather video, world map, and warnings.
I switched from Weatherbug because with this I can store more than 3 locations; I currently have 6. And iPhone's Yahoo Weather, we all have to agree, though it's cute it's kinda crappy. So having said all that, I gave this program 5 stars, because it does all the weather functions that I need, plus it's free.
Best weather app.
By: NakedTickBoy - Nov 22, 2008
Yes, it's ugly but it does what it needs to do; tell weather. The radar isn't animated because that what the video is for, would you rather watch some color move across a map or wait the same amount of load time to watch the radar in a movie and watch somone explain the weather. And yes on the 3G network it loads pretty quick. The radar is realtime it's just not animated, but if you keep refreshing it'll move. All in all this is the best FREE weather app. It's the weather channel, so could it really be bad at telling the weather? Install it and be amazed, FYI if it crashed restart your iPhone....it's not that difficult.

I love this app & refer to it several times a day usually. I was having the same problem many others reported after downloading the update. But last night it started working again. I don't think it was a problem with the app because I didn't download any extra updates or make any changes to cause it to work again, so I'm thinking maybe The Weather Channel's servers needed a fix or something? Anyway, my advice is give it a try.
